The following limitations were encountered during the course of this study;
1. This was a hospital based study and may not give an accurate representation of what is obtainable in the general population and hence the result cannot be extrapolated beyond the study population.
2. The study carried out showed an association between sedentary behavior and metabolic syndrome. It did not show any causal relationship between the two variables.
3. Identifying those with sedentary life-style was done based on the answers the respondents provided in the questionnaires. This may be prone to errors as the responses may be falsified by the subjects.
