Post/s of Research Support Officer I TIPMID - MCST National R&I Project Thermal Imaging for Peripheral Vascular Disease
Monitoring in Diabetes Centre for Biomedical Cybernetics
1. Applications are invited for the full-time post of
Research Support Officer to support and perform research on the Thermal Imaging for Peripheral Vascular Disease Monitoring in Diabetes (TIPMID) project which is at the feasibility study stage and which employment is conditional to the project being approved for development. TIPMID is a project supported by the Malta Council for Science and Technology National R&I Fund in which the University of Malta is the lead partner.
2. The ideal candidate should:
Be in possession of a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Electrical and Electronics Engineers, or a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in ICT, or another equivalent qualification;
Preferably have technical and algorithmic experience in image processing methods;
Have good electronic engineering, programming and IT skills;
Have experience in MATLAB programming and preferably also experience in C++ programming;
Be able to work both independently and as a member of a team;
Have good communication skills, both oral and written and a good command of the English language;
Have good managerial skills.
3. The appointed candidate will preferably be ready to pursue a postgraduate degree with the Centre for Biomedical Cybernetics in the research area of the TIPMID Project if not already in possession of such a postgraduate degree.
4. This full-time post is for a fixed term contract of 1 year, with the possibility of extending for a further year, starting

Applications are invited for a Resident Academic full- time post in the Department of Occupational Therapy at the Faculty of Health Science. The appointment will be on an indefinite basis, subject to a one-year probationary period, up to statutory retirement age.
The appointee will be required to contribute to the teaching, research and other activities of the Department of Occupational Therapy within the Faculty of Health Sciences, and as may be required by the University.
Candidates must be in possession of a PhD or equivalent research-based doctorate relevant to the subject matter. This post requires the candidate to demonstrate specialisation in the field of peadiatric occupational therapy with current practice in the field.
The Resident Academic Stream is composed of four grades, being Professor, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer and Lecturer. Entry into the grade of Lecturer or above shall only be open to persons in possession of a PhD or an equivalent research based doctorate within strict guidelines established by the University.

The appointee will be required to participate in the teaching, research and other activities of the Department of Conservation and Built Heritage within the Faculty for the Built Environment, and as may be required by the University.
Candidates must be in possession of a PhD or equivalent research based doctorate. The required area of specialisation is in the conservation of decorative architectural and archaeological surfaces, with emphasis on wall painting conservation. Due preference will be given to candidates who show sound, deep and broad knowledge of decorative architectural surfaces and their conservation, as well as competence, leadership and team-working abilities. The selected candidate will also have good organisational and management skills. Previous hands-on experience in the above-mentioned field will be favourably assessed. A track record in research including international publications, as well as academic experience at tertiary level, in the above field will be favourably considered.
