01/2004 – 12/2005: Team Leader, Heritage Management project for the walled city of Xingcheng, financed by the Asia Urbs Programme of the EC, partnered by the cities of Óbidos (Portugal) and Portsmouth (UK), budget EUR 818,134. The project provided capacity-building and training for Xingcheng Municipal Government to manage the urban tissue of the walled city, including timber-framed historic houses, one of which was rehabilitated as an outreach centre. Mr. Michelmore was responsible for management and reporting, as well as monitoring of all project activities. He coordinated the activities of 26 local project staff and 21 international experts.
2005: Expert Adviser to the Municipality of Antalya (Turkey), on the management and conservation of the walled city and its timber houses, on behalf of the Turkish Association of Historic Towns.

1995-6, 2004: UNESCO Conservation Expert, preparing detailed conservation specifications and budgets for timber and masonry structures at Tamshing and Denchenphug Monasteries and Drugyel Castle (Bhutan). 01/2001 – 01/2003: Prioritising the Cultural Heritage for the World Heritage city of Lalitpur and the village of
Khokana (Nepal), financed by the Asia Urbs Programme of the EC, partnered by the cities of Chester (UK) and Feltre (Italy), budget EUR 802,000. This project provided the infrastructure and training for Lalitpur Sub- Metropolitan City to develop a capacity for effective management and restoration of the historic city centre and its houses. A number of pilot rehabilitation projects involved the restoration and reuse of four historic timber-and-masonry buildings. Mr. Michelmore was responsible for all management and financial matters
