12.2. LA OFERTA

To our knowledge, this is the first study to develop conceptual models to examine, in depth, factors that may explain or exacerbate the relationship between mild prematurity and poor neonatal and developmental outcomes. By doing so, this thesis contributes to the literature by (a) providing a coherent framework with which to explain the

relationships among variables thought to affect outcomes of late preterm and early term birth and (b) forming hypotheses around the existence of high risk groups in the late preterm and early term population.
