This review was particularly well-received by the WHP research community and leaders in the field.127-130 It was acknowledged by the editor in chief of the American Journal of Health Promotion as “the most thorough and rigorous systematic review of the literature conducted to date on the return on investment (ROI) of workplace health promotion programs” p iv. 127 Its findings have been cited in the American Heart Association Presidential Advisory.131 The results in this review provide strong support for the need to improve standards of economic evaluations in workplace health promotion.
