Genesis 1:1-6

If God created the earth, or brought the earth into being, then everything in the earth must be good, because God said that it was good. He did not create it bad. He created it and said that it was good.

It was good because God said that it was good!

That is not to say that it would stay good, but as it came from the hand of the Creator, it was good! Consequently, everything in the earth, and on it, must be good.

The book of James tells us:

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

James 1:17

If every good gift comes down from God, then nothing bad can come from God. If there is anything bad, it did not come from God, because the Bible says that every “good" comes from Him.

God created two basic kinds of things: one kind had no will of its own, the other had a will. God gave the thing that had a will the greatest and most precious gift in the universe, and that is the gift of free will!

Unfortunately, it is in the exercising of this gift that corruption of what is perfect came about.

What is the opposite of light? Dark. What is the opposite of up? Down. What is the opposite of north?

South. What is the opposite of male? Female. What is the opposite of sin? Righteousness. What is the opposite of good? Bad or evil. Evil is really nothing but a perversion of good! Evil is not something that exists by itself apart from anything else; it is simply the opposite of good. It is when good ceases to be good that it becomes evil. When evil ceases to be evil, it becomes good. Evil has to be a perversion of good; otherwise, God created evil.

There is a verse in the Old Testament which talks about God creating the light and the dark, and the good and the evil. (Is. 45:7.) But if you will study out that passage in the Hebrew, you will find that in the original language this verse was not written that way. The implication is not that God created evil, but rather that He permitted it.

In the Hebrew there are two senses: causative and permissive. We only have one sense in English. What happened is that the translators (and why they did this I don't know, since I am not a translator and was not there when this happened), contrary to the Hebrew, placed the verb in the causative sense instead of the permissive sense, which makes it appear that God caused the evil rather than permitting it.

We do have to understand that these translators were not always men ordained of God to do the job. Translations were done by men who saw a need for the Word to be placed into the various languages of the people, and it was because of their scholastic ability that they were given the opportunity to translate the Bible from the original Hebrew and Greek into modern languages. Many translations were made, and while we are grateful for the dedication and work that was done by these early translators, the fact remains that they were not always men anointed of God. That is why we find the foul-ups.

God is not fouled up. When He translates through men He has specially anointed to do the job, you are not going to find all these mixed-up words. Had the translators been men called of God, the translations would have been just as God meant them to be, because the Bible says that He is not the author of confusion.

God did not, and does not, create evil.

God cannot be the creator of evil, because there is none in Him. That is why He cannot be responsible for sickness and disease. You cannot give what you don't have. You can only communicate AIDS to another person if you have it yourself. If you don't have it, you cannot pass it on to someone else; you have to have it in some way, form or fashion in order to communicate it. God does not have sickness in Him, so how can He transmit it to you? Sickness is the opposite of health. Sickness is a perversion of good health, just as evil is a perversion of good.

In the book of James, Chapter 1, verse 17, it says, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." Since every good and perfect gift comes down from God, sickness, evil and darkness cannot come from above, because there is nothing good or perfect about them.

And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

Notice that the Bible does not say that God created grass. It says that God created the earth, and the earth brought forth grass. The grass did not come from God, as such; it came from the earth which God created.
