Jian or Gradually. The maiden is offered in marriage. Good luck. It is a time to persevere.

1. This is a January hexagram, it is good in spring, summer and fall, bad in winter.
2. Jian means to follow in proper sequence, to plant one's feet on solid ground, to do a job honestly and make gradual progress.
3. If we change Jian's 5th Yang Yao to a Yin Yao, it becomes a pure hexagram, Yin or Mountain. So jian is a quihŭn hexagram.

Jian Yin
If a patient who consults I Ching gets the Jian, it is a very evil omen.
