2.4.2 Reactor anaerobio de flujo a Pistón (RAP)

There are a number of different enrolment options for the Summer School depending on whether participants wish to enrol in the courses as part of a SPHCM postgraduate degree, a non SPHCM postgraduate degree, or as a non- assessable professional development activity.

• Currently enrolled students who wish to take courses in the Summer School enrol online as continuing students (my.unsw.edu.au) from late October.

• Domestic applicants wishing to commence their degree in Public Health, International Public Health or Health Management in Summer Term should submit their applications online through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) in September, 2014. For details see ‘How to Apply’ on the School website.

• Students from other faculties and universities who wish to take summer courses for credit and complete the assessments without applying for a SPHCM degree enrol as Non-Award students. For details see ‘How to Apply’ on the School website.

• Applicants who wish to participate in the workshops as non-assessable professional development activities and not for credit enrol online. For registration and payment see sphcm.med.unsw.edu.au/summer-school

Internal courses are conducted on campus with face-to-face teaching. Students are expected to attend weekly classes during the semester period. In some instances internal courses also include a compulsory workshop component held in the Residential School before each semester starts. Many internal courses also include an online component.

External courses are offered by distance mode using a

combination of intensive workshops and online teaching.

Workshops are held during the Residential School

one week before each semester starts and in November / December for summer term. Please make sure that you check your course timetable to see which days you are required to attend.

All courses listed (except PHCM9100 Academic Practice) are worth 6 Units of Credit (UOC) each.

Students from non-English speaking countries who have not previously completed a degree in Australia or other English speaking country are also required to take the core course PHCM9100 Academic Practice in their first semester. This course is also available to all other students to assist in gaining maximum benefit from their study, particularly if returning to study after a long break. The course is offered at no charge to students and does not contribute to the UOC requirements of the degree.

Projects – In consultation with their supervisors, students may enrol in a research project either in Semester 1 or Semester 2.

An individual course which is specified as a core course or stream-defining course in one program may be taken as an elective in another program.
