5.4. Recomendaciones para el sector

Please do not treat this chapter or the chapters that follow it as just another spellbook. It’s not a reference guide for you to grab one spell from and let it fly. You can do that if you need to; there are certainly enough spells in here, but that’s not the intent of the book. The intent is to get you thinking strategi- cally and systematically. Let’s take a look at the strategy in sequential steps.

Always start with the inner sorcery that yields indirect influence. Pick the type of persona you wish to project, study role models, and try their body language and speech patterns on for size. Adopt what you find useful and drop what you don’t. Use the prayer of the perfected self in the mornings to reinforce these qualities and use invocations like the conjuration of the com- mander at night to channel particular energies.

If there are specific people that you need to influence, observe them and make a file. Gather magickal links and think about their dispositions. Find their likes and dislikes so that you can play on them. Influence is a give and

take, not just outright domination; play into their dispositions and they will play into your spells.

By day, lay down traps and triggers with powders or talismans that the target will walk over and come into contact with, so that they are surrounded by your influence on a consistent basis.

By night, choose a spell to work from home and get it going late at night when the target is most likely asleep. This could be one of the candle spells, or one of the petition style spells to a deity, or both. If you don’t like the spells in this chapter consult any spell book in the bibliography to get hun- dreds of different choices.

Learn the arts of magickal conversation. Drop your anchors and issue your embedded commands. Talk visually, kinesthetically, or auditorily to tar- gets based upon their dispositions. Be charming and complimentary but be frank.

Lastly, unless you are deliberately trying to be menacing, for gods sake, smile.

Financial Magick

A

s I settle down to write this chapter the world is entering into the largest financial crisis since the great depression. Banks are going belly- up almost daily, the markets are plunging, and people are checking their re- tirement accounts to find that half the money they had saved and invested is now gone. In short, things are bad and I have very little faith that they will have improved significantly eight months from now when this book hits the shelves. There has never been a time when it was more important to deal with the topic of financial magick.

I chose the term financial magick for this chapter, rather than money magick for a reason: I believe the distinction is very important. There are a lot of money-drawing spells out there; unfortunately they are mostly per- formed by desperate people in emergencies, or by people hoping for a miracle like winning the lottery. Being able to conjure sums of cash in a hurry is an admirable feat, but the need to do so on a regular basis is the mark of an amateur. Winning the lottery is also okay, but there is so much magick aimed at something so improbable by so many different people, that it’s almost impossible for the magick to work. Successful Sorcerers will not be overly concerned with money drawing magick, but with financial magick,

which involves the attraction, management, and distribution of money ac- cording to a plan that is sprung from wisdom and cunning.

In fact, using money drawing magick to react to emergencies can even be dangerous. It is all to easy for even a mediocre Sorcerer to enchant their way into keeping the same crappy job and run down apartment that they have been stuck in for years. Knowing when it’s time to let things fall apart so that you can re-build from scratch is an important skill. The Alchemical process solve et coagula, which means destruction and creation, is important for Sorcerers to internalize. Sometimes the wisest course of action is to do nothing.

Hopefully you won’t find yourself in a position where you have to let it all fall apart and restart. This chapter is designed to help you get past that kind of problem. But before we can move to where we want to be financially, we need to examine where we already are.

Perspective

I need you to ask yourself a serious question: Are you wealthy already? It’s not a trick question. I am not talking about some esoteric definition of wealth like being “rich in friends” or “spiritually wealthy”; I mean it finan- cially. Are you wealthy? I want you to put this book down for a minute and contemplate the question.

I ask this question because perspective in magick is important, but in an age where we can so easily find little pockets to isolate ourselves within of people that are just like us, it’s an especially easy thing to lose. If we spend a good amount of time following the exploits and trials of the rich and famous reported in tabloids then it’s even easier to lose perspective of our own well being. If we are constantly confronted with images from movies and advertise- ments that suggest lifestyles of European vacations every year and six-figure wardrobes are the norm, it’s really easy to feel poor. Let me throw some numbers out at you:

According to the World Bank Development Research Group anyone making more than $47,500 a year is in the top 1 percent of income earners on

planet earth. If you make more than $25,500 a year you are in the top 10 percent of income earners. The bottom 85 percent earns less than $2,185 a year. Think about that. The bottom 50 percent, half the people on planet earth, live on less than $800 year.

Now, before you start thinking that $25,000 may be the top in the world, but is still pretty poor for America where the federal poverty line is cur- rently listed as $10,787 for an individual, let me remind you that we live in a one world economy now. That bottom 50 percent has no access to services that even the poorest people in industrialized nations do. The bottom 25 percent doesn’t even have access to potable water on a regular basis. The guy flipping burgers at the local diner may live close to the poverty line in America, but that still makes him amongst the top 10 percent wealthiest people on the planet, and his life reflects it.

What does any of this have to do with magick? Am I saying that you should just be happy with what you have and not strive for greater wealth? No, most definitely not. I am all for you attaining greater and greater levels of wealth. If your true will is to heat your 30-room house by burning 20- dollar bills while taking a champagne bath in a platinum Jacuzzi then by all means go for it! My point is simply this: you can’t just do magick with the aim of being wealthy. If you summon Tzadkiel, the archangel of Jupiter, and ask him to make you wealthy, he is just going to look at you funny and remind you that you are probably already in the top 10 percent, if not the top 1 percent. If, however, you ask him to help you and present him with a de- tailed plan that will result in greater wealth, he is probably going to be a lot more helpful. You need perspective about where you are, where you want to be, and a plan to get from one to the other.
