2.5 AIMS
THE AIMS OF THIS STUDY WERE THREEFOLD:
1. To characterise the nature of the in vivo hepatic ^^P MRS abnormalities in chronic liver disease using in vitro MRS techniques.
(The results o f this study are detailed in chapter 3).
2. To correlate in vivo hepatic ^^P MRS changes in patients with chronic liver disease with in vitro MRS of liver extracts taken at the time of orthotopic liver transplantation.
(The results o f this study are detailed in chapter 4).
3. To investigate the changes in ^^P MR spectra in patients postoperatively with good allograft function and with chronic ductopenic rejection.
