The Kanaanites at this side of the Jordan River are destroyed and completeyl defeated, the
Amorites and the surrounding villages and city´s are defeated. The ruling controlling power is been smashed down and judged; Gods verdict is been performed and executed through Israel. And look at that what happens now: Satan has no direct controlling influence anymore through using a strong mighty demonic Monarch, so he is pushing and using the weaker Moabites under the CONTROL and the RULERSHIP of INCEST, so that Israel maybe is been able to be defeated with TRICKERY, FOXINESS and DECEPTION. But before it is coming to that moment, Satan is first trying to use the false priests and the False Prophets to bring a curse over Israel. So weak are his attempts to hold on to that what he actually has alredy lost, but he is just not giving up until he has also used his last deceitfull trick, but it are only the last vibrating moments of a dieng body. Satan is almost at the end of his contol over all the Nations who lay before the Jordan River. And now we finely have come to the history of the false prophet Balaam who is doing all he can to get the reward of a soothsayer, trying to sell himself to curse Israel.
Israel has traveled further along and his camps are resting now in the fields of Moab which has
its position almost directly before the Jordan River, directly looking on the other side upon the City of Jericho. A sanctified, for God set apart people is completely filling the fields of Moab and the field is painted dark brown from the tents of the camp of Israel. Israel has set foot now with his army camp directly before the territory of the King of the Moabites who has already heard how Israel has defeated the Amorites; so they know they have not a fragment of a chance to come against Israel with might and power and to defeat them in a battle. And it was the Ammonites who controlled them having their feet on their neck and they lay now in the dust, being crushed down and defeated. It is very well aware of it that Israel is much stronger and the Nation of the Moabites is full of fear and terror. And not only the King has FEAR, although he is in a position that to show that: would not be good, but he is full of fear and not only the King: no the whole Nation and all the people have fear.
As King Balak is walking up and down the alee of his palace looking out over the fields of Moab
he is able to see how one of the messengers comes galloping into the gates. Since Israel is camping in the fields of Moab every day he received some reports from the city holders asking what the King will do against this terrifying army of warriors which is bringing great FEAR over all the citizens of Moab. The people are full of FEAR and they have complained themselves to the heads of their tribes and they have complained again to King Balak through sending a messenger.
King Balak, which name has the meaning of “DESTROYER - DEVASTATOR” is through that
what he sees and that what comes to his ears full of worry, he has lost his sleep and is completely agonized and he calls for the: very well known, prophet Balaam. It has become very clear to him that this Israel can only be stopped if one would be able to curse it and who would be able to do that? Who has so much power and might? Only a god who was more powerful as the god of the fields! Because Balak his way of thinking was way different as we would think; for him he didn’t knew any better as that there was a god of the sea, a god of the mountains, a god for trade and industry and a god of the fields. For every place and for every city they believed there was another god who controlled that area. That is the reason why there are so many Baal names. They believed that the earth stood under the Control and rulership of many different gods which one had to keep at their side, through sacrificial offerings and such. And Baal meant as much as god... and than the name of the place or of the character if it was a strong ruling god. What they didn’t know is that behind every god they worshipped and honored stood a demon or a family of demons.
Numbers 22:-1-5 And the sons of Israel pulled up stakes and camped on the plains of Moab,
beyond the Jordan, by Jericho. 2 And Balak the son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites. 3 And Moab greatly feared because of the people, for it was many. And Moab was vexed by the presence of the sons of Israel. 4 And Moab said to the elders of Midian, Now this assembly is licking up all that is around us, as the ox licks up the grass of the field. And Balak the son of Zippor was king of Moab at that time. 5 And he sent messengers to Balaam the son of Beor, to Pethor which is beside the River of the land of the sons of his people, to call for him,
In the root text it means also to summon too come – not asking – wich is fitting much better as
just to call for him, because King Balak knew him very well. A big problem is rising up at the horizon of his kingdom and now Balaam has to come, so the King sends messengers to summon and to demand Balaam to come to King Balak. Balaam must have been very famous as the King is honoring him with great honor and was willing to honor him even before he had done anything. As he than finely comes to King Balak he first has to hear a reproof from Balak. For me is it very clear that both of these men knew each other very well; and this again means that Balaam went in and out at the palaces of Kings and rulers.
36 And when Balak heard that Balaam had come, and had gone out to meet him, to a city of Moab which is on the border of Arnon, which is in the outermost border, 37 then Balak said to Balaam, Sending, did I not send to you, to call for you? Why did you not come to me? Am I not truly able to honor you?
It is much better to know your God, but when you have no idea of Satan’s strategic ways of
working it doesn’t look very good for you. God doesn’t want us to be unknown and unlearned about that and very surely not about the teaching of Balaam. The strategy of Satan is that he will do what ever is needed so that Gods people will discredit herself through loosing her purity, her virginity and that he seal of her wedding relationship with God will be broken. He knows that if they eat from his table and take from that what God had forbidden, that God has to retreat Himself and that Israel is standing than there without Gods help. This is his plan and the strategy and the instrument is a fallen true prohet from God, somebody who has inside knowledge in Gods ways of acting.
Satan is seducing Balaam with money, fame and honor! And he falls! He is not able to resist the
temptation of wealth and the fame and the honor. Oh, this is one of Satan’s best strategic moves, to use a for the outward appearance righteous man or woman from God who in their heart have already turned away from the living God and who have given fame and honor a place in their heart. A trap was been laid for the soul of Balaam and Balaam laid again a trap for the soul and the heart of Israel.
7 And the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian left with the rewards of the seer in their hand. And they came to Balaam and spoke the words of Balak to him. 12 And God said to Balaam, You
shall not go with them. You shall not curse the people, for it is blessed. 15 And Balak sent yet
again, more leaders and more honorable than they. 16 And they came to Balaam and said to him, So says Balak the son of Zippor, Please do not be hindered from coming to me, 17 for I will honor
you with very much honor.
The first time he asked God how and what, he received explicit instructions; and than he told the
leaders, the honorable men: “God will not let me go.” That was a plain lie! He asked God after HIS WILL, and God let him know unmistakably, that he didn’t want that Balaam hold up with this heathen king. But Balaam has NO OBEDIENT HEART and that means that he is not willing to do Gods will with joy; because he said: “God will not let me go!” With other words: I desire to come but I am not allowed.
