Garisssa Power Station is located at the Junction of Sankuri and Ngamia Road about two(2) kilometers from the main town. The contractors will be given directions to the staff camp from the Power Station.

1.1 Floors shall be mopped twice daily and scrubbed once a week mostly in the wet season and keeping clean throughout the day.

1.3 Cigarette urns and dustbins emptied twice a day and washed twice a week

1.4 Doormats swept twice a day

2 Offices and Meeting Rooms

2.1 Floors mopping first thing in the morning and scrubbed using approved detergents and polished once a week

3 Material Stores

3.1 The store shall be swept and scrubbed once a week under the supervision of Kengen Staff

4 Notice Boards

4.1 The notice boards with glass sliding doors shall be wiped daily and the soft board notice boards dusted daily.

5 Institutional Bathrooms and All Toilets

5.1 All the toilet floors shall be wiped/mopped and kept dry and disinfected using approved disinfectants twice a day, morning and after lunch. Any system failures such as leakages reported for prompt repair.

All discoloration should be removed with appropriate detergent and material

6 Basins, Sinks and Urinals

6.1 They shall be cleaned with appropriate disinfectant throughout the day, including the flash handles.

6.2 Mothballs, sanitary blocks, air fresheners (an automatic discharging air freshener where possible), disinfectant and high quality brilliant white toilet paper supplied throughout the day.

6.3 Adequate supply of liquid soap in the soap dispensers and liquid hand washing soap dispensers. Faulty soap dispensers and/or hand dryers reported immediately.

7 Provision of Toilet Papers and Fresheners

7.1 The Contractor shall always avail adequate high quality brilliant white toilet papers and freshener(automatic discharging air freshener were possible)

7.2 Kengen supervisor shall first agree on the type of air freshener to be supplied or automatic discharging air fresheners before the supplier purchase.

127 7.3 There shall be at any time five urinal balls

bigger than three quarter full size in the urinals.

7.4 Air freshening block in all the WC‟s

8 Doors and Partitions

8.1 All doors handles shall be cleaned daily and polished at least once per week.

8.2 All door hinges greased regularly when need arises.

8.3 All the office partitions dusted daily and wiped once a week

8.4 All the main doors and cubicles toilet door handles cleaned using an approved disinfectant twice a day

8.5 Removing all stains and oil spills from the Floor.

9 Walls, Ceiling and Mirrors

9.1 All the stains on the walls and ceiling shall be removed with an appropriate spot cleaner. Any signs of dampness on the ceiling reported promptly to the premises caretaker/supervisor

9.2 Mirrors wiped and kept clean daily

10 Workshops

10.1 They shall be swept clean and mopped daily and as often as the user may request with approved detergent to remove any stains on the floors and walls.

10.2 Kengen Supervisor in the respective area, shall be consulted by the cleaners on how to undertake the exercise mostly in the sensitive areas.

10.3 All cobwebs, bird‟s nests and wasp nests shall be removed immediately they are sited

11 Parking Areas

11.1 They shall be swept ever day in the morning before cars occupy the parking bays. Bays shall be cleaned with water whenever possible at least once every two weeks preferably during the weekend

12 Corridors and Staircases

12.1 All the staircases in common areas in the office building and residential block of flats shall be swept and mopped daily. Floors shall be kept dry throughout the day.

128 12.2 All windowpanes and grills cleaned and

dusted every day. Apply sheen on windowpanes as well as thorough cleaning of all windows once a week.

13 Curtains and Blinds

13.1 All the curtains and blinds shall be laundered/dry cleaned and pressed once a week

14 Compounds

14.1 Entire compound shall be kept clean by sweeping daily.

14.2 Watering of the trees shall be done occasionally.

14.3 Fence and hedges shall be professionally trimmed and the trash disposed at designated incinerators.

14.4 Flowers beds weeded and watered and manure applied when necessary. all worn out flowers and plants shall be replaced by the contractor

14.5 Pavements swept, daily and thoroughly cleaned at least twice a week. Papers and other litter thrown carelessly shall be collected and disposed off immediately. 14.6 All the verandas swept and washed daily and

kept dry at all times.

14.7 Canopy roofs washed once a week

15 Access Roads, Road Networks and Perimeter Fences

15.1 Bushes and grass on both sides of the access road network cleared throughout the year. 15.2 Culverts within minor and major roads and

residential camps cleared and maintained throughout the year.

15.3 De-silting of the Drain storm shall be done once required or filled.

16 Restricted Areas

16.1 Below places shall be cleaned as specified in the bill of quantities

16.1.1 Surge Tanks 16.1.2 Control Rooms 16.1.3 Generator Rooms 16.1.4 Pump Rooms

16.1.5 Power Station Areas 16.1.6 Fuel Storage Areas

17 Garbage Collection

17.1 All the dustbins and waste paper baskets and ashtrays emptied twice a day in the offices and common areas and washed as often as required.

17.2 Refuse and rubbish collection areas cleaned whenever possible

17.3 Contractor supplying dustbin lining 500 gauge for the garbage collection

17.4 Garbage within all the contracted areas shall be collected and disposed in the designated areas.

18 Servicing of Manholes Sewage Systems

18.1 The Contractor shall use the appropriate tools in unblocking the sewage system 18.2 The manhole covers shall be greased once a

year.

19 Exhausting Septic Tanks

19.1 The Contractor shall be required to exhaust and transport the sludge to the local authority designated sewage digesters

20 Equipment

20.1 The cleaning personnel shall be always in recognizable uniform at all times put on their nametags

20.2 Always use appropriate protective gear when cleaning and where necessary

21 Logistics

21.1 Have a suitable supervisor on the ground in the station
