“Radio / radio tape / radio disc”: The radios, radio tape or radio disc appliance in the vehicle which the company that manufactured it has an active agent in Israel who also provides repair and spare parts service for the same model.
“The appliance”: Radio, radio tape or radio disc which this service plan covers with a maximum value of NIS 1,400 (in accordance with the official price list of the importer), as applicable and as detailed in the schedule however excluding: antennas, speakers, cassettes, discs, remote controls, panels around the appliance which do not form an original part of the appliance.
“The vehicle”: The vehicle insured under this policy whose details are stated in the schedule in which the appliance covered under this extension has been installed.
“The service recipient”: The insured under the policy as well as anyone in possession of the vehicle and/or using the appliance in the vehicle on behalf of the insured.
“Service laboratory”: A laboratory of the service provider and/or subcontractors performing repairs to car radios, radio tapes or radio discs for the service provider.
“Service provider”: As detailed in the policy schedule and/or subcontractors performing repairs to car radios, radio tapes or radio discs for it.
“Business days”: Conventional business days in Israel, excluding public holidays, holiday eves, Sabbaths and intermediate days of festivals (Hol Hamoed).
“The period of service”: From the inception date of the insurance up until the expiry date stated in the schedule, however if the insurer notifies the service provider that the policy has been cancelled or that its validity has expired, this service plan will also terminate automatically on the date of the cancellation or expiry of the policy, and this without any notification of their service provider to the service recipient.
B. Scope of the service
The following services will be provided and/or performed by the service laboratories and/or by the service provider.
B1. Maintenance and repair service
B1.1 This extension covers all maintenance services required for the proper operation of the appliance and the repair of any breakdown to the appliance and/or replacement of any part thereof in order to return it to proper operation all of which within 3 business days from the date of which the vehicle and the appliance are brought to one of the service laboratories. B1.2 In the event that the service laboratory does not complete the
repair within 3 business days – the service recipient will be entitled, effective from the fourth business day as aforementioned, to install a replacement appliance until the repair is completed (the replacement appliance may be from a different manufacturer to the original appliance).
B1.3 The service in accordance with this service plan is subject to the appliance being in proper working order at the inception of the service period.
B1.4 It is clarified that parts which are replaced by the service laboratory will not necessarily be made by the manufacturer however will match, be equivalent in their quality to the damaged parts and will fully comply with all of the functions in a similar manner to the original parts.
B1.5 It is clarified that the service laboratory is entitled, instead of repairing or replacing parts in the appliance, to install a replacement appliance in the vehicle even from a different manufacturer whose value equals that of the appliance being replacement (and it is further clarified that this will not be the value of a new appliance). In the event of a dispute regarding the value of the appliance, the value of the appliance will be determined by an external expert.
B1.6 If the service laboratory is requested to perform a re-repair of the same appliance within 3 months of the date of the previous repair and the re-repair arises from an error and/or omission of the service laboratory, or where the re-repair relates to parts or labour which were performed in the previous repair, the service laboratory will bear the entire cost of the repair and will not impose any deductible on the owner of the vehicle even if the extension has expired.
B1.7 Exclusions:
Notwithstanding the aforementioned, this service plan will not cover any breakdown or damage which is caused to the appliance due to any of the following causes:
A. Use of the appliance in breach of the manufacturer’s instructions.
B. The appliance was repaired or was altered by a party who was not authorised to do so by the manufacturer or by the service laboratory.
C. The damage was caused maliciously and/or by the
negligence of the service recipient.
D. Breakdowns and/or faults in the electrical system of the vehicle.
B2. Loss or damage to the appliance
B2.1 In the event of damage to an appliance as a consequence of an event covered under the policy, as a consequence of the insured perils and subject to its exclusions, a replacement appliance will be installed in the insured vehicle, or in the event of the theft of the vehicle – in the vehicle which replaces it, subject to the conditions of this service plan.
The new replacement appliance will be a state of the art radio disc player from a well-known and established manufacturer in Israel which has an active sales agent in Israel.
The maximum value of the appliance (in accordance with the official price list of the importer) will not exceed the amount stated in the schedule.
It is clarified that the supply and installation of the replacement appliance in the event of theft from the vehicle is subject to the existence of visible signs of violent burglary and provision of a police certificate regarding the burglary and the theft.
B2.2 The insured is entitled to receive a new replacement appliance without limitation on the number of occurrence in the period of the policy in accordance with the following conditions:
A. Installation of the replacement appliance is done solely via the service provider.
B. The service recipient receives a 12 month warranty certificate for the replacement appliance.
C. In any event of a malfunction in the replacement appliance during the warranty period, the malfunction will be dealt with solely via the service provider within 3 business days from the date of the call centre being notified.
B2.3 This service plan does not confer under any circumstances any financial compensation other than the installation of a replacement appliance alone.
B2.4 The replacement appliance will be installed within not more than 3 business days from the date on which the vehicle is brought to the service laboratory and subject to all conditions of this service plan.
B2.5 In the event of the vehicle being stolen – The appliance will be supplied and installed solely after indemnity has been received from the insurer for the theft of the vehicle.
C. Deductible
C1. The amount which the service recipient will bear for repair of the appliance will be as stated in the policy schedule or the amount of the repair, per the price list, will which be received by the service laboratory for the repair – the lower of the two amounts.
C2. The amount that the service recipient will bear for replacement of the appliance in the event of loss or damage to the appliance as defined above will be as stated in the schedule.
D. Provision of the service
In any event of loss or damage to the appliance the service provider must notify the call centre of the service provider in order to make an appointment to install the replacement appliance.
E. General conditions
E1. The cover is conditional upon the service recipient contacting one of the service laboratories and obtaining the service from it.
E2. The service for the appliance will be performed in the service laboratories. The vehicle in which the appliance is installed or from which the appliance was stolen will be brought directly to the service laboratory by the service recipient or at his expense.
E3. The insured must provide the insurer with all of the relevant documents in order to corroborate the claim.
6. AUTOMATIC REINSTATEMENT
In the event that covered damage occurs to the vehicle which does not constitute a total loss, the scope of liability of the insurer in accordance with this policy will be reinstated following the occurrence of the insured event.
If this extension is included; then notwithstanding the provisions of clause 26 of the General Conditions (Section F) the insured will be exempt on the occurrence of the insured event from payment of an additional premium for reinstating the scope of insurance cover.
