Installing Extensions for OWA 2003 Support
This section describes how to install the EMC SourceOne Extensions for Microsoft Outlook Web Access software on a computer running Microsoft Exchange Server 2003.
Note: To install the Extensions for OWA 2007 or Extensions for OWA 2010
Support software on a computer running Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 or Exchange Server 2010, see “Installing Extensions for OWA 2007 or 2010 Support” on page 160.
Prerequisites
This table provides an overview of the prerequisites you must complete before installing software.
Table 42 Prerequisites
Considerations
Review the following considerations before installing the software.
Server type
You install this software only on Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 back-end servers. You do not need to install this software on Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 front end servers.
ASP.NET considerations
EMC SourceOne uses several Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) Web sites to support product functionality. These sites require ASP.NET 2.0 (as described in “Establishing system requirements” on page 58). If the default Web site on the IIS server is configured to use ASP.NET 1.1, the EMC SourceOne installation will change the version to ASP.NET 2.0, resulting in a restart of IIS. An error message similar to the following may be observed as a result of the IIS restart:
Failed while restarting W3SVC. Error code: 0x80070420
You can avoid this error being generated by ensuring that the default Web site on your IIS server is configured to use ASP.NET 2.0 before installing EMC SourceOne software.
Clustered Exchange considerations
If installing the Extensions for OWA 2003 Support software in a clustered Exchange Server environment, you should plan
appropriately for the installation of this software on each node and against each Exchange Virtual Server in the cluster group. Review
EMC SourceOne software This installation requires that an EMC SourceOne Web Services computer exists and is accessible on the network. You will specify this host name during the EMC SourceOne Extensions for OWA 2003 Support software installation. If you have configured two or more Web Services computers in a load balancing cluster, you will instead specify the virtual host name during the EMC SourceOne Extensions for OWA 2003 Support software installation. Table 42 Prerequisites
◆ Run the installation on the first active node in the cluster. When
prompted for the Exchange server name, enter the name of the Exchange Virtual Server that is active on that node.
◆ Run the installation on the next active node in the cluster. When
prompted for the Exchange server name, enter the name of the Exchange Virtual Server that is active on that node. Ensure that this Virtual Server is not the same Virtual Server you specified when installing on the previous node.
Note: Ultimately, you must specify each Exchange Virtual Server in your cluster configuration at least once during the installation of the OWA Extensions.
◆ Before running the installation on a passive node, perform a
failover so that an Exchange Virtual Server is running on that node. When prompted by the install for the Exchange server name, enter the name of the Exchange Virtual Server that is active on that node. Ensure that this Virtual Server is not one of the Virtual Servers you specified when installing on previous nodes.
◆ Repeat this process until all Exchange Virtual Servers have been
specified at least once during the installation of the Extensions for OWA 2003 Support software.
