This chapter describes names and functions of the main parts. Use the illustrations below to identify the major components.
Commonly-Used Hardware
The following table shows the hardware that this electronic gaming machine uses. Using incorrect hardware may damage the equipment.

Parts Removal
Describes how to remove components from the cabinet.
Note: Special tools may be needed depending upon the type of component being removed. Turn off the game power before servicing components inside the game.
Parts Installation
Describes how to install components into the cabinet.
Main Door Switch
Removal
Open the Main door. Remove the power supply, if necessary, for better access to switch terminals. Remove all wires from the back of the switch. Note wire locations for future reference during instal- lation. Gently grasp the Main door switch from the top and bottom behind the mounting bracket and push the switch forward.
Installation
Insert the switch from the front of the machine. Gently push the switch into the bracket until it seats. Connect the wires to the terminals. Turn on machine power. Close and lock the Main door.
Top Box Door Switch
(Removal and Installation is the same for all three (3) top boxes).
Removal
Open the top box door and remove the LCD or other compo- nents to allow access to the switch. Remove the connectors from the switch noting the location for installation. Remove the two (2) #8-32 nuts securing the switch mounting bracket to the top box. Grasp the two tabs on the switch and push forward to remove the bracket.
Installation
Push the new switch into the mounting bracket until the two tabs on the switch seat in place. Place the connectors on the switch in the proper loca- tions. Mount the bracket onto the top box with the two (2) #8-32 nuts. Re-install the LCD or other components removed to allow access to the switch.
Belly Door Switch
Removal
Open the Main door. Remove the power supply, if neces- sary, for better access to the switch terminals. Remove all wires from the back of the switch. Note wire locations for future reference during installation. Gently grasp the Main door switch from the top and bottom behind the mounting
bracket and push the switch forward.
Installation
Insert the switch from the front of the machine. Gently push the switch into the bracket until it seats. Connect the wires to the terminals. Turn on machine power. Close and lock the Main door.
Switch Wiring
Each wire of the switch harnesses is marked to indicate terminal position. Use the illustration below to ensure the switch is connected correctly.
DOOR SWITCH WIRE LOCATIONS

Installation
Install the bill validator. Insert the four (4) #6-32x1/4 screws into the back of the bill validator. Insert the three (3) #M4x4 screws into the left side of the enclosure. Install the cash cassette box by depressing the cash box latch and sliding the box to the back of the bill validator housing. Close and lock the bill cassette door. Close and lock the Main door.
Logic Unit
Removal
Turn off machine power. Open the Main door. Remove the Logic Unit door. Set aside. Unplug all con- nectors from the Logic Unit. Use a long screwdriver to remove the #6- 32 security screw. Remove the logic unit by sliding it
forward until it clears the mounting rails. Remove the Logic Unit.
Installation
Insert Logic Unit and slide it back until supported by the mount- ing rails. Use a long screwdriver to tighten the #6-32 security screw. Connect all harnesses. Install and lock the logic unit door. Turn on Main power. Close and lock the Main door.
CAUTION: PCBs are electrostatic sensitive!
Discharge body static prior to handling any PCB to prevent damage or destruction of static sensitive components. Main Processing Unit
Removal
Place the Logic Unit on a clean, stable surface. Gently pull the PCB latches toward you and pull the Main Processing Unit (MPU) board forward.
Installation
A l i g n the MPU board on the guides. S l i d e b a c k until the con- n e c t o r s a r e firmly seated. Snap the PCB latches forward until they con- tact the edge of the board.
Hopper
Removal
Open the Main door. Grasp the hopper by the handle and slide forward.
Installation
Align the hopper into the two hopper guides. Firmly insert the hopper making sure the hopper plug is fully connected to the power control panel connector.
Power Supply
Removal
O p e n t h e Main door. Loosen the power supply mounting screw lo- cated in the lower right-hand corner of the fallplate. Slide the power supply as- sembly forward until it clears the mount- ing rails.
Installation
S l i d e t h e power supply into the mounting rails
and push back until the power supply connector is securely seated. Tighten the mounting screws.
Bill Validator
Removal
O p e n t h e Main door. Open the bill cassette door. Remove the cash cassette box by de- pressing the cash box latch and slid- ing the box forward. Remove the three (3) #M4x4 screws from the left side of the enclosure. Re- move the four (4) #6-32x1/4 screws
Removal
Remove the MPU board. Discon- nect the harness connected to the backplane board. Remove the ten (10) #6-32 screws from the backplane board. Remove the backplane board. Installation P l a c e t h e backplane board in position. Install the ten (10) #6-32
screws in the backplane board. Connect the harnesses. Install the MPU board.
NOTE: Each #6-32 screw secures a grounded connection between the backplane board and the game. All screws are required for proper operation. Logic Unit Switch
Removal
D i s - connect the harness from the switch. Re- move the two (2) #2-56 nuts from the switch a s s e m b l y . Remove the switch.
Installation
Locate the switch on mounting studs. Install the two (2) #2-56 nuts. Connect the harness.
Key Switch
Removal
Turn off machine power. Open the Main door. Disconnect the wires on the back of the switches. Remove the 3/4” nut.
Installation
Insert the switch. Install the 3/4” nut. Con- nect the wires to the termi- nals. Turn on main power. Lock the Main door.
Printer Assembly
Removal
Turn off machine power. Open the Main door. Disconnect the harnesses from the printer assembly. Re- move the four (4) screws se- curing the printer to the mounting bracket.
Installation
Install the
four (4) screws securing the printer to the mounting bracket. Con- nect the harness to the printer assembly. Close the Main door. Turn on main power.
Belly Glass
Removal
Open the Main door. Turn off machine pow- er. Open the belly door. Disconnect the harnesses from the belly light assembly.
Installation
Install the
belly glass. Install the belly artwork. Install the belly light assembly. Install the two (2) nuts. Connect the harnesses to the belly light assembly. Close the belly door. Turn on machine power. Close the Main door.
LCD Unit
(Removal and Installation is the same for Main and Top Box LCD)
Removal
Open the display door and loosen the set screws on each side of the LCD assembly. Rotate the LCD forward enough to allow ac- cess to the LCD connector. Remove the LCD connectors and safety lanyards from the assembly. Lift the LCD assembly pivot pins out of the mounting groove to remove.
Installation
Tilt the LCD assembly slightly forward and place pivot pins into mounting grooves. While holding the LCD in place, install the con- nectors and safety lanyards to the assembly. Rotate the LCD in place making sure the locating pins align with mounting holes. Tighten LCD assembly set screws, close and lock display door.
Speakers
Removal
Open the system enclosure door and remove the screws securing the speakers to the mounting brackets. Pull the speakers out enough to gain access to the mounting connectors and remove. Remove the speakers.
Installation
Place the connectors on the speakers in the correct locations and place speaker into mounting bracket. Secure in place with screws.
Power Distribution Assembly
Removal
Open the Main door of the cabinet and turn off the main power supply. Remove the hopper, if equipped, to gain access to the power distribution assembly. Remove all the connectors from the assembly noting their location for installation. Remove the four (4) #8-32 nuts securing the assembly to the main cabinet.
Installation
Place the power distribution assembly on the four (4) mounting studs inside the main cabinet and secure in place with #8-32 nuts. Install all the necessary connectors to the assembly. Install the hop- per, if equipped. Turn on the main power supply and close and lock the Main door.
Bill Validator Switch Assembly
Removal
Open the Main door. Turn off machine power. Remove the hopper. Remove the bill validator. Disconnect the harness from the bill validator door switch assembly. Remove the two (2) #8-32 nuts. Remove the bill validator door switch assembly.
Installation
Install bill validator door switch assembly. Install the two (2) #8-32 nuts. Connect the harnesses to the bill validator door switch assembly. Install the bill validator. Install the hopper. Turn on machine power. Close the Main door.
Meter Assembly
Removal
Open the Main display door and remove the LCD assembly to gain access to the meter assembly. Disconnect the harness from the meter assembly. Remove the four (4) #8-32 screws securing the meter assembly to the enclosure.
Installation
Place the plex face on the face of the meter assembly and mount to the four (4) mounting studs inside the enclosure. Secure in place with four (4) #8-32 nuts. Install the connector on the meter assembly. Re-install the LCD assembly, close and lock the Main display door.
