Stewardship Reflection
May is the first of two months dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The second month is October, also known as the Month of the Rosary. In May we remember Mary, the Mother of God, the gentle woman. Mary’s mission is to bring her children to her Son, Jesus. Take some time with your family and say a Hail Mary together, a decade of the Rosary, or the full Rosary.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen

VBS Save the Date
Vacation Bible School (VBS) will be held from June 22nd to June 24th with Family Night on Thursday, June 23rd Registration will be in the Narthex after Mass on May15th, 21st & 22nd, June 11th & 12th, and registration closes on June 19th. Registration Forms can be handed into the office during the week.

Knights of Columbus Golf Tournament
The Knights of Columbus will host their 2nd annual golf tournament on June 4th at the Champions Circle Golf Course. Registration starts at 6:30, Tee-Off at 8:30. Cost is

Faith Formation 2022-2023
Faith Formation registration dates will be on June 25-26th, July 9-10th, July 16-17th, and August 13-14th, and during the first couple weeks of classes as long as spots are open.
Sessions will begin 09/11/22. If you are a catechist in the Faith Formation program, you will not pay the registration fees. Please pray about becoming a catechist or small group leader, to share your faith with your parish family

Pro-Life Presentation
Knights of Columbus Council 10930 will host a Pro Life presentation on Wednesday, May 18th at 7 PM in the Saint Thomas the Apostle Hall. K of C State Council Director of Pro Life, Tom Clark, will present a fact filled message centered on the sanctity of life. We want to encourage and welcome all members of Saint Thomas the Apostle to attend this worthy event.

We are disciples, followers of Christ, but how many of us would pass the test that Christ himself lays down for deciding who are his true followers? The word “charity”
unfortunately has come to have a very restricted meaning in our present-day vocabulary. It signifies giving an alms, a gift of money to a needy person. This is but a very small part of the true charity, true love of neighbor which Christ made the distinguishing mark of the true Christian. He who truly loves his neighbor must be interested, first and foremost, in those things which concern that neighbor’s most important purpose in life, his eternal salvation. Here is where so many good Christians fail in true charity. Effective interest in missionary activity is a case in point. Practical help in parochial matters, taking part in the various societies which are intended to build up and strengthen the faith and the devotion of the members of the parish is another obligation of true charity. So many seem to think it is no concern of theirs, but it is. Advising and encouraging, with true Christian kindness, a neighbor who is beginning to grow lax in his attendance to his Christian duties, or who is forming habits of alliances which, if unchecked, will bring misery and suffering to his family, and scandal to the neighborhood, and even the possibility of his own eternal destruction, is also an exercise of real Christian charity. Each one of us could, with great profit, spend a few moments today looking into ourselves and comparing our thoughts and our words and our actions with the thoughts, words and actions of love which Christ expects from his followers. It is never too late to mend. Begin today to take a true Christian interest in the spiritual fate of your family and neighbors. Where words have already failed perhaps, try prayer and example. The grace of God will cooperate with your sincere, charitable effort.
Somos discípulos, seguidores de Cristo, pero ¿cuántos de nosotros pasaríamos la prueba que el mismo Cristo pone para decidir quiénes son sus verdaderos seguidores? Lamentablemente, la palabra “caridad” ha llegado a tener un significado muy restringido en nuestro vocabulario actual. Significa dar una limosna, un regalo de dinero a una persona necesitada. Esto es sólo una parte muy pequeña de la verdadera caridad, el verdadero amor al prójimo que Cristo hizo la marca distintiva del verdadero cristiano. El que verdaderamente ama a su prójimo debe estar interesado, ante todo, en aquellas cosas que conciernen al propósito más importante de la vida de ese prójimo, su salvación eterna. Aquí es donde tantos buenos cristianos fallan en la verdadera caridad. El interés efectivo en la actividad misionera es un ejemplo. La ayuda práctica en los asuntos parroquiales, participando en las diversas sociedades que tienen por objeto edificar y fortalecer la fe y la devoción de los feligreses, es otra obligación de la verdadera caridad.
Muchos parecen pensar que no les concierne, pero lo es. Aconsejando y animando, con verdadera bondad cristiana, al prójimo que comienza a ser negligente en el cumplimiento de sus deberes cristianos, o que está formando hábitos de alianzas que, si no se controlan, traerán miseria y sufrimiento a su familia, y escándalo a la la vecindad, e incluso la posibilidad de su propia destrucción eterna, es también un ejercicio de la verdadera caridad cristiana. Cada uno de nosotros podría, con gran provecho, dedicar hoy algunos momentos a mirarnos a nosotros mismos y comparar nuestros pensamientos y nuestras palabras y nuestras acciones con los pensamientos, palabras y acciones de amor que Cristo espera de sus seguidores.
Nunca es tarde para enmendar. Comience hoy mismo a tener un verdadero interés cristiano en el destino espiritual de su familia y vecinos. Donde quizás las palabras ya hayan fallado, pruebe la oración y el ejemplo. La gracia de Dios cooperará con vuestro esfuerzo sincero y caritativo.
