INSTRUCCIONES PARA LOS AUTORES
Zoologica baetica es una revista de la Universidad de Granada destinada a la publicación de trabajos científicos, notas, etc..., inéditos, que traten cualquier aspecto de la Zoología.
Los artículos podrán presentarse en Castellano, Inglés o Francés, siendo el autor(es) el responsable de las opiniones manifestadas. Su aceptación será acordada en cada caso por el Comité de Redacción de la revista, previa evaluación por al menos dos censores especializados.
Composición de los artículos
1.—Título: el título, en la lengua en la que esté escrito el artículo, irá seguido de su traducción a la otra lengua, sin uso continuo de mayúsculas, con los nombres de los taxones subrayados, y con referencia, en su caso, a un taxón de nivel familiar y otro de nivel superior.
2.—Nombre(s) del autor(es). 3.—Dirección del autor(es).
4.—Notas de la primera página, ej.: “Dirección del autor al que se debe remitir la correspondencia”, “financiación”, etc...
5.—Palabras clave: en Castellano. “Key words”: en Inglés. 6.—Resumen: en Castellano. “Summary”: en Inglés.
7.—Texto del artículo, estructurado de la siguiente forma: introducción, material y métodos, resultados, discusión, conclusiones, agradecimientos y bibliografía. No se admitirán notas a pie de página.
8.—Los subapartados y, si es necesario, otras subdivisiones deben estar clara-mente marcadas. El comienzo de cada párrafo se sangrará cinco espacios.
9.—Deberán seguirse las normas del Código Internacional de Nomenclatura Zoológica. Todos los taxones animales a nivel de género y especie que se mencionen en el texto deberán llevar, al menos una vez, el nombre del autor y el año de descripción. En todo caso, los nombres latinos de los taxones deben llevar subrayado sencillo o escribirse en cursiva.
10.—En la redacción del artículo se utilizará un estilo escueto.
11.—Al hacer referencia a figuras o tablas, si la palabra forma parte del texto de la frase, deberá aparecer de la siguiente forma: Figura 7, Tabla V. Entre paréntesis Figura puede abreviarse como (Fig. 7). Cuando se haga referencia a figuras o tablas en general, sin especificar un número, deberán emplearse las minúsculas.
12.—Las referencias a los autores dentro del texto deberán realizarse del si-guiente modo: cuando forma parte de la frase, el nombre del autor deberá escribirse
en minúsculas con la fecha de publicación entre paréntesis, ej.: “... fue introducido por Cassagnau (1961) para...”; de otra forma la referencia completa irá incluida entre paréntesis, separando el nombre del autor y la fecha por una coma, ej.: “... y con características típicas de estrategas de la r (McArthur y Wilson, 1967; Harper, 1979)...”.
Cuando el número de autores de una referencia sea mayor de dos se utilizará la abreviación latina et al., ej.: (Robredo et al., 1989). Si existieran más de una referencia del mismo autor y año se distinguirán mediante letras minúsculas corre-lativas situadas inmediatamente detrás del año, ej.: (Pascual, 1978a, 1978b).
13.—Bibliografía
a) La lista de referencias bibliográficas incluirá solamente aquellas que hayan sido citadas en el texto, debiendo ser éstas completas.
Los autores se dispondrán en orden alfabético según sus apellidos. Cuando existan varias referencias de un mismo autor deben disponerse por orden cronológico, sustituyendo a partir de la segunda el nombre del autor por una línea recta. Si se citan varios trabajos de un mismo autor y año se distinguirán mediante letras minúsculas correlativas situadas inmediatamente detrás del año.

c) Los títulos de las referencias que originariamente no estén escritos en caracteres del alfabeto romano, se indicarán en el mismo idioma que el artículo, pero indicando entre paréntesis el idioma original, ej.: (en Ruso, con resumen en Inglés).
14.—Ilustraciones:
a) El tamaño de las ilustraciones se ajustará o será proporcional al de la caja (12,5 x 19 cm.). Las letras, números arábigos, símbolos, medidas, etc., que figuren en las ilustraciones serán de tal tamaño que sean legibles al reducirse a las dimen-siones de la caja.
b) Los dibujos se realizarán con tinta china negra sobre papel vegetal o sobre cartulina blanca; las fotografías deberán ser en blanco y negro, bien contrastadas. En todos los casos se incluirá una escala gráfica.
c) Las ilustraciones llevarán escrito a lápiz en el dorso el nombre del autor, título del trabajo y número de referencia. Para su numeración se tendrá en cuenta que la revista sólo admite las denominaciones de Figura (dibujos, fotografías, mapas, gráficas, etc...), y de Tabla. Las figuras se numerarán con números arábigos conse-cutivos y las tablas con números romanos.
d) La falta de datos en las tablas se consignará con un guión, nunca con un cero.
e) Se recomienda la utilización de mapas que lleven coordenadas U.T.M. f) Las leyendas explicativas de figuras y tablas se presentarán en hoja aparte, en el idioma del artículo y su correspondiente traducción a la otra lengua.
15.—Los manuscritos e ilustraciones originales se enviarán junto con dos copias completas a la redacción de la revista. Además, los trabajos pueden ser enviados en un disco de 3,5" escritos con WordPerfect o Word.
La revista enviará, gratuitamente, al autor con el que se mantenga la correspondencia 50 separatas del artículo.
INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS
Zoologica baetica is a journal edited by the University of Granada, and devoted to the publication of hitherto unpublished papers, comunications, etc., dealing with all aspects of Zoology.
Papers may be submitted for publication either in Spanish, English or French. Sole responsability for the opinions expressed therein will belong to the author(s). All submissions will be passed for adjudication to at least two specialist reviewers but the final acceptance for publication will lie with the Editorial Board of Zoologica baetica.
Layout
1.—Title: the title, in the language in which the paper is written should be followed by a version in the second language. Capital letters should not be used throughout the title, except where grammatically appropiate. The names of taxa should be written in italics or underlined once, with due reference to family and one higher level.
2.—Name(s) of author(s). 3.—Authors’ addresses.
4.—Notes to first page, e.g. “Author to whom correspondence should be addressed”, “funding”, etc.
5.—Key words: in English. “Palabras clave”: in Spanish. 6.—Summary in English. “Resumen” in Spanish.
7.—The text of the paper should be laid out in sections in the following sequence: Introduction; Materials and Methods; Results; Discussion; Conclusions; Acknowledgements; Bibliography. Footnotes will not be admitted.
8.—Subsections and, if necessary, further subdivisions should be clearly subtitled. Indent paragraphs 5 spaces.
9.—The norms and recommendations of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature should be followed at all times. When citing animal taxa at the generic and specific level the name of the author and year of recording should be given at least once. Latin designations of taxa should be written in italics o underlined once.
10.—The style of the text should be as succint as possible.
11.—When referring to figures and tables in the text, if the words form part of the syntax of the sentence they should appear in the form: Figure 7; Table V. In brackets Figure may be abbreviated to (Fig. 7). Whe figures and tables are referred to in general, with no designating number, a lower case letter is used.
12.—References to authors within the text should be made in the following way: when forming and integral part of the sentence the author’s name is written in lower case with the year of publication in brackets, e.g. “... was introduced by Cassagnau (1961) for...”; otherwise the whole reference is included in brackets with a comma separating the author’s name from the date, e.g. “... and with characteristics typical of r strategies (McArthur & Wilson, 1967; Harper, 1979), ...”.
When more than two authors are involved the first author’s name should be cited followed by et al. in italics or underlined, e.g. (Robredo et al., 1989). In the case of reference being made to separate publications by the same author in any one year, they must be distinguished by a lower case letter after the year in question, e.g. (Pascual, 1978a, 1978b).
13.—Bibliography
a) The references should include only those cited in the main body of the text and must be complete.
Authors are to be listed alphabetically according to surnames. When various references are made to the same author they should be arranged chronologically, the author’s name being replaced by a straight line after the first of them. If several works published in the same year by the same author are cited, they must be distinguished by a lower case letter after the year.

c) Titles of references in any script other than Roman should be rendered into the same language and script as the article and followed (in brackets) by an indication of the original language, e.g. (from the Russian original).
14.—Illustrations:
a) Illustrations must either fit or be proportional to the page format size 12,5 cm. x 19 cm. In the latter case, all letters, Arabic numbers, symbols, measurements, etc., should be of an adequate size to remain legible when reduced to page format. b) Drawings should be in Indian ink on rice paper or thin white card; photographs should be monochrome with clear contrast. An indication of scale must always be included.
c) The author’s name, title of the paper and number of the illustration should be written in pencil on the back. N.B.: when numbering bear in mind that the journal only admits the terms Figure, for all drawings, photographs, mapts and graphs, and Table. Figures must be numbered consecutively in arabic numerals and tables in roman numerals.
d) Lack of data in tables must be indicated by a dash, never a zero.
e) It is recommended that maps should be provided with U.T.M. coordinates. f) Figure and Table Captions should be written on a separate sheet, both in the language of the paper and in translation.
15.—Authors should send threee complete typescripts together with the original figures and tables and two sets of copies. Papers may also be submitted on a 3,5" diskette in WordPerfect or Word format.
The journal will provide 50 off-prints free of charge to the author to whom correspondence should be addressed.
