WARNING

1. Keep fingers away from all moving parts. Special care is required around the sewing machine needle.

2. Always use proper needle plate. The wrong plate can cause the needle to break. 3. Do not use bent needles.

4. Do not pull or push fabric while stitching. It may deflect the needle causing it to break.

5. Switch the sewing machine off (MO”) when making any adjustments in the needle area, such as threading needle, changing ne

dIe, threading bobbin, or changing presser foot, etc.

6. Always unplug sewing machine from the electrical outlet when removing covers, lubricating, or when making any other user se

To turn a square corner 5/8” from the fabric edge, stop stitching with the needle tip

To avoid lower thread from being pulled up, reduce upper thread tension.

For good embroidery, it is impor tant to use the correct needles and thread.

Use embroidery thread for upper thread and a thinner thread of same kind and color for lower thread.

Trace your design on material and center it in embroidery hoop. Make sure material is taut.

LOWER TENSION ADJUSTMENT

If you machine skips stitches

or ioops stitches, it may

require a tension adjustment. To check the bobbin tension, follow these steps:

i3 Push latches of the shuttle race cover to the outside, as shown in figure

TJ.

Suspen bobbin, bobbin case, and shuttle all

together as illustrated in

figure

.

When jerking the thread

slightly, all of them should slide down with light resis tance.

If they do not slide down

with a slight jerk of the

thread, the bobbin case tension is too tight. If they

slide down too easily, the bobbin case tension is too loose.

See following page for adjustment of the bobbin case.

Once the bobbin case is correctly adjusted, it is easy to use the upper ten

sion to balance the stitches

CLEANING SHUTTLE CASE

Thread stuck between shuttle

and shuttle case causes sud den rapid running or sudden

stopping of the machine. In this case you should pro

ceed as follows:

Lift presser foot and remove bobbin case.

CHANGING LIGHT BULB Unplug the machine.

Loosen the screw as

• shown and open face cover as shown.

Remove the bulb by unscrew ing it in a counterclockwise direction.

Install a new bulb by screwing

it in clockwise.

If your machine skips stitches only on certain fabris, try all of the

above procedures before calling a repairman.

Check the needle plate area, if there are scratches and marks around the needle hole opening, your machine is not being cleaned properly. Always remove the needle plate and clean the feed dogs periodically. Improper and lack of cleaning will cause an accu mulation of lint which hampers the feedingmechanism, this in turn will cause the operator to impatiently pull or push the cloth causing the needle to bend and strike the plate, foot or hook, causing a slip in the timing mechanism.
