COMPARTIENDO EL EVANGELIO. San Juan 17,20-26
Queridos hermanos y hermanas, entramos en el VII domingo de Pascua. !Que camino tan intenso hemos recorrido de la mano del resucitado!. Hoy celebramos la ascensión de Jesús al cielo y el próximo domingo será Pentecostés.
El Evangelio de este domingo es parte de lo que se llama la Oración sacerdotal y San Juan lo pone precisamente antes del arresto de Jesús. En estos versículos Jesús ora al Padre por varias cosas:
Pide que todos seamos uno como El y el Padre son uno.
Que seamos librados del mal.
Pide que seamos santificados en la verdad.
Esta oración es salida del corazón de Jesús, Él no quiere que quedemos desprotegidos después de que se va al cielo, al lugar del que salió, sigue orando por nosotros y promete quedarse todos los días hasta el fin del mundo, y es precisamente con la fuerza del Espíritu Santo que esta oración hará efecto en nuestras vidas. Es el Espíritu Santo el que nos une, nos santifica, nos libra del mal.
Implora con insistencia la presencia del Espíritu Santo en tu vida para que luches por construir la unidad, para que el mal no te invada y para que seas santo. A propósito de la santidad, ojalá leas la EXHORTACION APOSTOLICA DEL PAPA FRAN- CISCO sobre la santidad, allí te darás cuenta de que tu vida cristiana es un llamado a ser santo, desde la propia vocación:
vida matrimonial, vida religiosa, una vida de soltero o soltera, al servicio de los demás.
Dios te bendiga y buena semana.
Celebramos a Solenidade da Ascensão de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo neste domingo,para melhor entender, celebramos a subida de Jesus para o céu, onde está sentado à direita de Deus Pai Todo Poderoso. Jesus, noutra ocasião reconheceu que “o chefe deste mundo está con- denado”, cf. Jo 16, 11, mas comanda uma Legião para manter seus reinos. No entanto, Jesus não é chefe, Ele é Senhor e tem autoridade dada pelo Pai no céu e sobre a terra. Esta autoridade é transferida à Igreja pelo envio dos apóstolos cuja missão é fazer discípulos, batizar e ensinar tudo o que ordenou a todos os povos. Que o Espírito Santo, promessa de Cristo que não nos deixaria órfãos infunda em nós o dom do entendimento para compreendermos as verdades da fé e os ensinamentos de Jesus.A ascensão de Jesus e, sobretudo, as palavras finais de Jesus, que convocam os discípulos para a missão, sugerem a nossa responsabilidade na construção desse mundo novo onde hab- ita a justiça e a paz; sugerem que a proposta libertadora que Jesus fez a todos os homens está agora nas nossas mãos e que é nossa re- sponsabilidade torná-la realidade; sugerem que nós, os seguidores de Jesus, temos de construir, com o esforço de todos os dias, o novo céu e a nova terra. Sentimos, de facto, esta responsabilidade? Preocupamo-nos em tornar realidade no mundo os gestos libertadores de Cristo? Procuramos construir, no dia a dia, esse mundo novo de justiça, de fraternidade, de liberdade e de paz? Nesta semana rezemos pela unidade dos cristãos, mesmo por aqueles que não têm plena comunhão com a Igreja Católica.

Es un mes donde se le demuestra a Jesús, a través de las obras, cuánto se le ama; correspondiendo a su gran amor de- mostrado al entregarse a la muerte por ti , quedándose en la Eucaristía y enseñando el camino para ser libres. La devo- ción al Corazón de Jesús ha existido desde los inicios de la Iglesia, desde que se meditaba en el costado y el corazón abierto del Señor. Cuenta la historia que el 16 de junio de 1675, el Hijo de Dios se le apareció a Santa Margarita María de Alacoque y le mostró su Corazón rodeado de llamas de amor, coronado de espinas, con una herida abierta de la cual bro- taba sangre y, del interior del mismo salía una cruz. Santa Margarita escuchó al Señor decir: "he aquí el Corazón que tan- to ha amado a los hombres y de los cuales ha recibido tantas ingratitudes”.
Que tal si tomamos conciencia de cuanto nos ama el Jesús y renovamos en nuestra vida siendo agradecidos para contra- rrestar la ingratitud?. Di con frecuencia: SAGRADO CORAZON DE JESUS, EN TI CONFIO.

The Norwich Diocesan Council of Catholic Women will hold its Annual Layette Program on Saturday June
11th, starting at 1 PM, Saint Joseph Church Hall, 99 Jackson Street,
Willimantic. All women of the Diocese are welcome to come. Please bring new baby items such as baby clothes from Newborn to Toddler 3, as well as blan- kets, diapers, etc. Baby items are greatly needed by our
Norwich Diocese families and will be donated to Catholic
Charities for distribution. A short program will be followed by refreshments.

Special Event – On Saturday, June 4, 2022, Saint Peter Church, 30 Saint Peter’s Lane, Higganum, will host the Our Lady of Fatima statue and relics from St. Jacinta and St. Francesco, two of the Fatima visionaries. The day begins with Eucharistic Ado- ration at 7:00 a.m. Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. There will be guest speakers, including a talk given by Judy Studer, venera- tion of the relics, special blessings, and opportunities for private
prayer. The event ends at approximately 12:30 p.m. There will be time for private prayer alongside the Fatima relics during and
after the program with Judy. You are invited to spend the entire time, or any portion of the scheduled time, with us. No need to
RSVP. Rosaries and medals from Fatima will be available for purchase. You may pay by personal check made payable to RI Mary Mother of Mercy or cash will be accepted. All attendees will have the opportunity to write down their personal prayer petitions which will be taken to the Shrine at Fatima, Portugal.
These private, unread petitions will be prayed for by religious on the Fatima site and will remain there in perpetuity. Please
join us for this unique opportunity.
