Jesus said to them, “Listen to another parable. There was a landowner who planted a vineyard, put a fence around it, dug a wine press in it, and built a watchtower. Then he leased it to tenants and went to another country. When the harvest time had come, he sent his slaves to the tenants to collect his produce. But the tenants seized his slaves and beat one, killed another, and stoned another. Again he sent other slaves, more than the first; and they treated them in the same way. Finally he sent his son to them, saying, “They will respect my son.” But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, “This is the heir; come let us kill him and get his inheritance.” So they seized him, threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him. Now when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those ten-ants?” They said to him, “He will out those wretches to a mis-erable death, and lease the vineyard to other tenants who will give him the produce at the harvest time.” Jesus said to them, “Have you never read the Scriptures: “The stone that the build-ers rejected has become the cornbuild-erstone; this was the Lord’s doing, and it is amazing in our eyes”? Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to peo-ple that produce the fruits of the kingdom.” Matthew 21:33-43
We are called to be good stewards of the gifts of God. What gifts do I have? How do I use them to bring
about the Kingdom?
God has a purpose for each one of us and our gifts. Do not let them go unused.
At our end of my life, how will I stand before God in a spirit of accountability?
Prayer
How do I become one of the “people to whom the Kingdom will be given?
One becomes a member of this people not by physical birth but by being born anew by faith in Christ and Baptism. (CCC782) Our Church is a building with Jesus as its cornerstone. His law is the new commandment to love as Christ has loved us. Its mission is to be the light of the world. “This is my command-ment, that you love one another.’ (Jn 15:12)
“When Jesus prays he is already teaching us how to pray. His prayer to his Father is the theological path (the path of faith, hope, and charity) of our prayer to God. But the Gospel also gives us Jesus’ explicit teaching on prayer. Like a wise teacher he takes hold of us where we are and leads us progressively toward the Father. Addressing the crowds that follow him, Je-sus builds on what they already know of prayer from the Old Covenant and opens to them the newness of the coming King-dom.
Then he reveals this newness in parables. Finally, he will speak openly of the Father and the Holy Spirit to his disciples who will be the teachers of prayer in his Church.” (CCC2607) “Once committed to conversion, the heart learns to pray in faith.” (CCC 2609)

Jesús dijo a los sumos sacerdotes y a los ancianos del pueblo esta parábola: "Había una vez un propietario que plantó un viñedo, lo rodeó con una cerca, cavó un lagar en él, construyó una torre para el vigilante y luego lo alquiló a unos viñadores y se fue de viaje. Llegado el tiempo de la vendimia, envió a sus criados para pedir su parte de los frutos a los viñadores; pero éstos se apoderaron de los criados, golpearon a uno, mataron a otro y a otro más lo apedrearon. Envió de nuevo a otros criados, en mayor número que los primeros, y los trataron del mismo modo. Por último, les mandó a su propio hijo, pensando: 'A mi hijo lo respetarán'. Pero cuando los viñadores lo vieron, se dijeron unos a otros: 'Éste es el heredero. Vamos a matarlo y nos quedaremos con su herencia'. Le echaron mano, lo sacaron del viñedo y lo mataron. Ahora, díganme: cuando vuelva el dueño del viñedo, ¿qué hará con esos viñadores?'' Ellos le respondieron: "Dará muerte terrible a esos desalmados y arrendará el viñedo a otros viñadores, que le en-treguen los frutos a su tiempo". Entonces Jesús les dijo: "¿No han leído nunca en la Escritura: La piedra que desecharon los con-structores, es ahora la piedra angular. Esto es obra del Señor y es un prodigio admirable? Por esta razón les digo que les será quita-do a ustedes el Reino de Dios y se le dará a un pueblo que produzca sus frutos''. Mateo 21: 33-43
Estamos llamados a ser buenos administradores de los dones de Dios. ¿Qué regalos tengo? ¿Cómo los uso para lograr el Reino? Dios tiene un propósito para cada uno de nosotros y nuestros
do-nes. No dejes que se vayan sin usar.
En el final de mi vida, ¿cómo estaré ante Dios en un espíritu de responsabilidad?
Oración
¿Cómo me convierto en una de las "personas a quienes se le dará el Reino?
Uno se convierte en un miembro de este pueblo no por nacimien-to físico sino por nacer de nuevo por la fe en Crisnacimien-to y el Bautis-mo. (CCC782)
Nuestra Iglesia es un edificio con Jesús como su piedra angular. Su ley es el nuevo mandamiento de amar como Cristo nos ha amado. Su misión es ser la luz del mundo. "Este es mi manda-miento, que os améis los unos a los otros" (Jn 15, 12).
"Cuando Jesús ora, él ya nos enseña cómo orar. Su oración a su Padre es el camino teológico (el camino de la fe, la esperanza y la caridad) de nuestra oración a Dios. Pero el Evangelio también nos da la enseñanza explícita de Jesús sobre la oración. Como un sabio maestro nos toma en donde estamos y nos conduce progre-sivamente hacia el Padre. Dirigiéndose a las multitudes que le siguen, Jesús se basa en lo que ya saben de la oración de la Anti-gua Alianza y les abre la novedad del Reino venidero.
Luego revela esta novedad en parábolas. Finalmente, hablará abiertamente del Padre y del Espíritu Santo a sus discípulos, quienes serán los maestros de la oración en su Iglesia "(CCC2607).
