Recognize God in your ordinary moments
“Tony, Tony, come around! Something is lost and it must be found. ”
Did you learn this one when you were a kid? In my experience there are even a lot of lapsed Catholics — or people who were never Catholic at all — who know that when you lose something, St. Anthony becomes your best friend. When we lose something really important, what do we do? We make the whole house- hold stop what they’re doing to join the search. Having St. Anthony as a friend means you ask him to stop what he’s doing to help, too. And how he helps is by taking the matter exactly where all matters need to go — straight to the feet of Christ. Here’s the real genius of St Anthony: he takes the most mundane, commonplace occurrence — misplacing socks — into an encounter with the divine and truly all things great and small are gifts from God. He grabs our hand and points to the cross. “That’s what you’re looking for,” he tells us. In the end, Tony doesn’t really find the lost things. He finds the lost people.Corresponsabilidad Católica

Cuando perdemos algo realmente importante, ¿qué hacemos? Hacemos que toda la familia deje de hacer lo que está haciendo para unirse a la búsqueda. Tener a San Anto- nio como amigo significa que también le pides que deje de hacer lo que está haciendo para ayudar. Y la forma en que él ayuda es llevando el asunto exactamente donde todos los asuntos deben ir: directamente a los pies de Cristo. Aquí está el verdadero genio de San Antonio: toma la ocurrencia más mundana y común, perder los calcetines, en un encuentro con lo divino y verdaderamente todas las cosas grandes y pequeñas son regalos de Dios. Dear Families,
Our catechetical cycle has come to a pause for the summer and we are so very grateful for the opportunity to serve and be part of your family’s journey of faith. We want to congrat- ulate all of you that received the Holy Eucharist for the first time and the Parents for your active participation in the faith of your child.
The summer provides us with the opportunity for our lives to slow down. It is also the perfect opportunity to reflect and re arrange our priorities. As parents, if we want our children to be faithful Christians, we need to model the faith, so I invite you to continue coming to Mass on Sundays, to pray with them at night and before meals, to bless each other before you leave the home and to read the coming Sunday Scripture readings and Gospel together so that as the domestic church that you are, your family, together, can grow closer to Christ.
I will be using this platform to let you know of the pre- registration dates for the coming catechetical year and other activities that will be happening in the summer for the fami- lies. See you in Mass!

Como Padres, si queremos que nuestros hijos sean cristianos fieles, debe- mos modelar la fe, así que los invito a que continúen viniendo a Misa los domingos, a orar con ellos en la noche y antes de las comidas, a bendecirse el uno al otro antes de salir de casa y a leer juntos las Escrituras y el Evangelio del próximo domingo para que como la Iglesia Domestica que son, su familia, se encuentren más cercanamente a Cristo.
