8. VERB `IR´: CONJUGATION AND USES.

EL VERBO `IR´ VERB `TO GO´

 USOS DEL VERBO `IR´. VERB `TO GO´USES:

1. MOVIMIENTO. MOVEMENT:

- USE: Indicate a movement from one point to another.

- PREPOSITION `A´: To introduce the place where you are moving we use the preposition `A´ = `TO´.

 Ejemplos: ¿Adónde vas? Voy a la tienda. Where do you go to? I go to the shop.

¿Dónde vais este verano? Vamos a la playa. Where do you this summer? We go to the beach.

María va a su casa. Mary goes to her house / Ellos van a la estación. They go to the station.

- CONTRACTION `AL´: when a masculine article `EL´ (the) appears after `A´ (to) we contract them. A + EL = AL

 Ejemplos: Vamos al (a +el) teatro. We go to the theater. / Voy al (a +el) cine. I go to the cinema.
