History of TUMS

1852 Establishment of Dar-ol-Fonoon School as the first modern college of higher education in Iran 1919 Establishment of the College of Medicine as

a separate independent school under management of the Ministry of Science

1935 Establishment of the University of Tehran with the School of Medicine and then the Schools of Law, Political Sciences, Science, Engineering, and Theology

1985 Separation of the education of medicine and related disciplines from Ministry of Science and beginning of the work of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education

1994 Affiliation of regional health organization to the University
