RESTAURADORA DE LA UNIVERSIDAD CIENTÍFICA DEL SUR
Resumen
Cuando se requiere de tratamientos indirectos el uso de las cerámicas en el campo odontológico se ha desarrollado mucho en los últimos años. El objetivo del estudio fue determinar el nivel de conocimiento en la clasificación y criterios de selección de las cerámicas dentales de los alumnos del post grado de rehabilitación oral y odontología estética y restauradora de la Universidad Científica del Sur 2011-2012.
Debido a la gran cantidad de porcelanas en el mercado, es importante que el profesional sea formado en el conocimiento básico de la clasificación de este material, según su composición química, técnica de confección, punto de fusión y resistencia a la fractura; así como sus criterios de selección como el ajuste marginal y estética pudiendo utilizarlo con mayor seguridad en beneficio de los pacientes. Como instrumento para medir el nivel de conocimiento en los alumnos del post grado se validó una encuesta que fue aplicada Los resultados demostraron que los residentes con mayor promedio obtenido fueron del grupo de estética, seguidos por los residentes del segundo año de rehabilitación oral.

Abstract
When indirect treatment requires the use of ceramics in dentistry has developed greatly in recent years.
The aim of the study was to determine the level of knowledge in the classification and selection criteria for dental ceramics graduate students in oral rehabilitation and cosmetic and restorative dentistry of Científica del Sur University 2011-2012. Due to the large amount of porcelain in the market, it is important that the professional is trained in basic knowledge of the classification of this material according to their chemical composition, technique of preparation, melting point and tensile strength;
and their selection criteria as the marginal fit and esthetics can be used more safely for the benefit of patients. As an instrument to measure the level of knowledge in the graduate students a validated survey that was applied. Results showed that residents with greater average were obtained from the esthetic group, followed by residents of the second year of oral rehabilitation was validated.
