Human trafficking and technology
Teenagers spend a lot of time online, making them prime targets for human traffickers. Us- ing online ads that promise money and adven- ture in exciting, glamorous cities, traffickers attract young women and girls. Parents should be aware of the serious dangers online, and monitor what their children’s online activity ± sites they visit, social networks they may be- long to, and who they are connecting with online.
Baptism is the one sacrament that all Christian denomina- tions share in common. In the Catholic Church, infants are baptized to welcome them into the Catholic faith and
to free them from the original sin they were born with.

RESPECT LIFE COMMITTEE
W D C !" P# R$%$ -
'" P#$#"?
The Psalms formed the prayer book and hymnal of the ancient Jewish people. Ps 136 has 26 lines, each one ending with the refrain: “God’s love endures forever.”
Our Christian Identity In both Jewish and Catholic worship and prayer, repetition indicates emphasis on the importance of a thought. The same is true of formal pray- ers, prayers whose words have a set form allowing groups of believers to pray in unison, not just in a particular gathering but also all over the world and even across generations ± an important expression of the unity of our faith.
Our Prayer life as Catholic Christians
Formal prayers, especially those taken from Sacred Scripture and Tradition, shape our thoughts & desires as we pray, making them more in keeping with God’s revela- tion. Our Lord provided us with one of the most famous formal prayers of all: The Our Father (Mt 6:913)
Our Response for the New Year 2018
Let us be proactive in gathering others into our “repetitive” prayers. Join us to pray in unison the Rosary daily for the free- dom of life itself.
Let us proclaim LIFE as sacred, showing our families, our communities, our country that we pray together, in unison to pre-
serve and protect life ± ALL LIFE.
Let us end this disregard for the sacred- ness of human life. Let us begin anew to
value each other where we are.
Let us love as Jesus Loves!
Until all are welcomed in life and protected in law.
To begin with, the rosary is not a prayer of words, but of meditation. When a Catholic completes praying an entire rosary of 20 mysteries, he or she has meditated upon the entire gospel; the incarnation, birth, life, suf- fering, death, resurrection, and glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. No method of prayer is more beneficial than this.
Most Catholics will pray five mysteries per day, and
when saying the words, he or she must meditate upon
one mystery at a time; for the duration of 10 Hail
Marys, before going on to the next "mystery," or medi-
tation. The memorized words are the vehicle by which
Catholics are able to keep their minds on the gospel sto-
ries.
