de poliéster y fibra sintética en el espléndido entorno de “La Venta”, reconvertido ahora en showroom de

Expormim, evoca al instante la evolución de esta compañía, con más de medio siglo de historia. El sólido

edificio del siglo XVIII, patrimonio histórico cultural de Mogente (Valencia), fue en sus inicios un lugar de

hospedaje para trotamundos que viajaban a bordo de carruajes de caballos, tartanas y calesas. En torno

al luminoso patio central, con palmeras y un inconfundible aire mediterráneo, las salas de exposición, de

robustos muros inmaculadamente blancos, estaban destinadas a caballerizas y cuadras antes de que Miguel

Laso Tortosa estableciera allí La Exportadora del Mimbre, en 1960, dedicada inicialmente a la manufactura

de cestos.

Comfortable loungers, seats and sofas elegantly showcased within the splendid spot called “La Venta”,

immediately evoke more than half a century of history of this company. The eighteenth century building,

listed as cultural heritage of Mogente (Valencia) and reconverted into Expormim showroom, was

once an inn for globetrotters travelling on horse carriages. Around the bright central courtyard with

palm trees and a distinctive Mediterranean air, the exhibition lounges are delimited by the thick white

walls which were intended to be stables and barns. Before Miguel Laso Tortosa opened in 1960 La

Exportadora del Mimbre, initially dedicated to the manufacture of baskets.

L’image de confortables chaises longues, les sièges et sofas en cuir nautique, le tissu technique, la

corde en polyester et la fibre synthétique dans le cadre parfait de “La Venta”, maintenant converti en

showroom d’Expormim, rappelle immédiatement l’évolution de cette entreprise, avec plus d'un demi

siècle d’histoire. Le solide bâtiment du XVIII siècle, patrimoine historique et culturel de Mogente

(Valencia), a été au début un lieu d’hébergement pour les globe-trotter qui voyageaient à bord de chars

de chevaux, tartanes et calèches. Autour de la lumineuse cour central entourée de palmiers et avec une

caractéristique allure méditerranéenne, les salles d’exposition, avec des robustes murs d’une couleur

blanche immaculée, étaient destinées aux écuries avant que Miguel Laso Tortosa ait établi là-bas La

Exportadora del Mimbre en 1960, entreprise consacrée au début à la fabrication de corbeilles.

Le immagini di comodi lettini, sedie, divani in pelle nautica e tessuto tecnico, corda in poliestere e fibra

sintetica immerse nello splendido contesto de “La Venta” ora trasformato a show room Expormim,

evocano immediatamente l’evoluzione di questa società nell’arco di mezzo secolo. Il solido edificio

del XVIII secolo, patrimonio culturale di Mogente (Valencia), era un luogo per ospitare viaggiatori che

transitavano a bordo di carrozze trainate da cavalli. Intorno al luminoso cortile con palme centrali e

chiaro sapore mediterraneo oggi si sviluppano le sale espositive, là dove una volta c’erano le stalle e le

scuderie, e successivamente Miguel Laso Tortosa nel 1960 stabilì La Exportadora del Mimbre, fabbrica

dedicata alla lavorazione di cesti.

Trends come and go, consumer tastes evolve and designs are constantly renewed, but quality remains

after three generations. In the words of the founder’s granddaughter: “We like that our furniture speak

well of us. We want to express purity, simplicity, comfort and ethics associated with our region. Helping

our customers live better and enjoy the changes nature undergaes during the different seasons. We

intend to promote products marked with a stray Mediterranean character, spreading the culture they

contain”.

Les modes passent, les préférences des consommateurs évoluent et les dessins se renouvellent sans

cesse, mais la qualité reste la même tout au long des trois générations. Selon les mots de la petite-fille

du fondateur: “Nous animons que ce soit nos meubles qui parlent bien de nous. Nous voulons qu’ils

expriment pureté, simplicité, confort et éthique associée à notre région. Qu’ils aident a nos clients a vivre

mieux et jouir des changements des environnements naturels pendant les différentes saisons de l’année.

Nous essayons de développer nos produits avec un caractère méditerranéen, en diffusant la culture

qu’ils ont derrière”.

Le mode vanno e vengono, i gusti dei consumatori e design si evolvono costantemente, ma la qualità

rimane la stessa da oltre tre generazioni. Nelle parole del nipote del fondatore: “Ci piace che siano i

nostri mobili a parlare bene di noi. Il nostro intento è esprimere la purezza, la semplicità, il benessere e

l’etica associata con la nostra regione; aiutando i nostri clienti a vivere meglio e godere dei cambiamenti

1 _{Aquella voluntad de ampliar horizontes y abrir nuevos mercados que proclamaba el nombre originario de}

la firma sigue siendo una de las grandes señas de identidad de Expormim, que hoy exporta a más de 40

países de los cinco continentes. La otra es el trabajo artesano y habilidoso trenzado a cargo de manos

expertas, que forma parte de su más preciado know-how. Tanto las elaboradas piezas de rattan como los

diseños más sofisticados y cosmopolitas realizados con fibras sintéticas poseen este común denominador.

Esta particular destreza en el tejido manual, basada en la intuición y una larga experiencia, otorga

expresividad y valor emocional a todas sus colecciones.

The wish to expand horizons and open new markets, as the original name of the company impliesd, is

still one of the main hallmarks of Expormim, which currently exports to over 40 countries on the five

continents. Another important trait is handcrafted work and the skilful weaving performed by expert

hands. This belongs now to its precious know-how and it is present in pieces made of rattan as well as in

the most sophisticated and cosmopolitan designs made of synthetic fibers. This particular skill in

hand-weaving based on intuition and experience gives expressivity and emotional value to all its collections.

Cette volonté d’agrandir horizons et d'ouvrir nouveaux marchés que proclamait le nom originaire de

l’entreprise continue à être un des plus grandes signes d’identité d’Expormim, qui aujourd’hui exporte

à plus de 40 pays dans les cinq continents. L’autre signe d’identité est le travail artisanal et le tressages à

main des expertes, qui font parte de son apprécié savoir-faire. Les pièces fabriquées en rotin mais aussi

les plus sophistiqués et cosmopolites design faits en fibres synthétiques ont le même dénominateur

commun. Une habileté particulière à l’heure de faire le tressage manuel bassée sur l´intuition et une

longue expérience qui accorde expressivité et valeur émotionnelle à toutes ses collections.

rimangono il segno distintivo della Expormim, che oggi esporta in oltre 40 paesi in tutto il mondo. Il

le realizzazioni, tutte le collezioni dal midollino alla fibra sintetica, sono caratterizzate da un unico

Dejarse abrazar por él para vivirlo intensamente. Es lo que nos

propone el estudio Lievore Altherr Molina con Livit, un nuevo sofá

modular para exterior: “Una pieza de gesto acogedor con mórbidos

cojines suspendidos sobre una esbelta estructura de aluminio, en

la que confort y ligereza se equilibran con el fin de proporcionar un

relax despreocupado”. Es liviano y cómodo, pero sin renunciar a

esa “atemporal elegancia mediterránea”, tal y como la definen sus

propios creadores. Un sofá especialmente diseñado para que cada

cual disfrute “a su aire”.

You must surrender to its embrace if you want to live it intensely.

This is what Livit, the new outdoor sectional sofa by Lievore

Altherr Molina Studio, suggests: “A welcoming piece with soft

cushions buoyed up by a slender aluminum frame, which

balances comfort and lightness with the aim of providing a

blithesome relax”. It is light and comfortable, but it does not

give up in the least to that “timeless Mediterranean elegance”,

as its own designers define it. A couch especially designed so

everyone enjoys “at ease”.

Su nombre nace de la tradición, pero su estética es innovadora.

La fluidez con que se dibujan sus patas de aluminio inyectado,

semejantes a los trazos de tinta negra del shodō (caligrafía

japonesa), evoca elementos orgánicos. Su elegancia se basa

en el equilibrio entre simplicidad y delicadeza, así como en una

estructura armónica que la dota de gran ligereza visual. Materiales

y sistemas altamente tecnológicos confluyen con reminiscencias

del reino animal y vegetal, de la exótica cultura japonesa y de los

primeros moradores de un territorio llamado Iberia sintetizándose

en una pieza única.

Its name comes from tradition, but its aesthetic is innovative.

Its legs of injected aluminum seem to flow smoothly just like

the distinctive black ink strokes of shodo (Japanese calligraphy)

and evoke organic elements. Its elegance is based upon

the balance between simplicity and delicateness, as well as

upon a harmonious structure allowing for visual lightness.

Highly technological materials and systems blend in with

reminiscences of the animal and plant kingdom, the exotic

Japanese culture and the first inhabitants of a land called Iberia

synthesizing in a unique piece.

La familia Twins crece con la incorporación de un loveseat, idóneo

para espacios reducidos o ambientes íntimos, y de una banqueta,

combinable tanto con las butacas como con el sofá. Dos piezas

desenfadadas, pero elegantes, que apuestan por el diseño

contemporáneo y la comodidad. Son totalmente aptas para el

exterior gracias a su estructura de aluminio y tejidos técnicos de

alta resistencia, aunque sus líneas y colores hacen que se adapte

fácilmente al interior.

The Twins family grows with the addition of a loveseat, ideal for

limited spaces or intimate environments, and a footstool that

can be combined both with the armchairs and the sofa. The two

of them look as insouciant as elegant, extremely comfortable

and contemporary. Although most suitable for outdoor use due

to its aluminum frame and high-resistance technical fabrics,

their lines and colour scheme make them easily adaptable to the

inside.

conceptual del diseño de la colección. La estructura ligera se

viste con un tejido técnico que se convierte en piel y envoltura.

La curvatura que se genera como consecuencia de la tensión

del tejido sobre la estructura remarca el deseo de conseguir un

esqueleto ligero tapizado”.

“Käbu, curve in Japanese. With this name, I underline the

conceptual process behind the design of this collection. The light

structure is dressed up in a technical fabric that becomes skin

and wrapping. The tightness of the fabric upon the structure
