It has thus introduced new security measures and requirements, which may be updated from time to time, to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus. Disposable masks should not be used for more than one day and must be disposed of appropriately at the end of the day. Although we expect the majority of the AUC community to be vaccinated, we anticipate that there may be some faculty, staff, or students who have not received their vaccination.

It is the host's responsibility to ensure that the visitor is fully aware of the campus access policy and the University's COVID-19 guidelines. Completing the form does not guarantee that the visitor will be granted entry to the campus. PAS is an integrated system that provides measures to control campus access and collect parking fees.

2468 or email [email protected] and provide necessary information, including office or laboratory number and area head or dean approval. Security guards are authorized to check and record the identity information of anyone violating this policy. Refusing to submit the ID would be considered a violation of the AUC ID card policy and could result in suspension of access to campus.

In the event of a violation, the offending individual's information will be removed and they will receive a letter informing them of the rules of this policy.

CAMPUS FACILITIES AUC T RANSPORTATION

Strict physical distancing practices, personal hygiene, and intensive disinfection and fumigation of all areas are implemented. Signs are posted at the dining hall entrance, reminding everyone not to enter if they feel unwell or have flu-like symptoms. Floor markings are placed to ensure physical distance within food service lines, service counters and cash registers.

Use AUC forms to order food to minimize the number of people inside the halls or in front of the sales points. Queues will be controlled at a distance within the outlets or in the outdoor area to avoid overcrowding. The Office of Integrated Services will clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at least twice a day.

School staff may coordinate with the Office of Integrated Services to request additional disinfection between classes by emailing [email protected] or calling ext. Faculty members must adhere to sessions' assigned start and end times to allow cleaning and sanitizing crews to proceed; any changes must be sent in advance to the Office of the Registrar. If a suspected or confirmed COVID-19 case is found, the space will be closed for 24 hours while the premises are disinfected.

To improve management and operational services, we have launched an online self-service portal for the offices of integrated and hard services. The following email address will only be used for following up on requested services: [email protected]. Due to the changing epidemiology of the virus, a specific destination that is now considered relatively safe may be considered unsafe next semester and vice versa.

Events must be held in venues that can hold the number of attendees under the capacity guidelines of COVID-19. Events are open to members of the AUC community who currently have access to campus, as well as external participants who have been vaccinated. Otherwise, the external participant will be required to show the security a proof of vaccination to enter the campus.

PUBLIC HEALTH B OOSTER D OSES

You will not be accepted at the gate if you do not present the self-check results to security at the gate. If the survey result produces a red face, the clinic will contact you to review your case with you and give you medical advice as needed. Each individual will have to show the result of the daily self-check with the vaccination status to enter the campuses, buses, sports facilities and other services.

Anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 must complete the self-monitoring here to report to the clinic. While we expect that the majority of the AUC community will be vaccinated upon entering AUC New Cairo or AUC Tahrir Square, we can expect that there may be faculty, staff or students who have not received their vaccination. This protocol provides guidance on the procedures to be followed if a community member has had close contact with someone with COVID-19: Within 1.5 meters of an infected person for 15 minutes or more.

You will need to identify yourself as a contact via the AUC Health Self-Check form, and the medical team will guide you through the testing process. Emails are sent to the immediate manager (staff), Office of the Dean of Students (students), Office of Integrated. The individual can return to campus by the end of the 10th day after receiving a negative PCR test result and resolution of symptoms.

The Office of Medical Services sends emails to the Office of the Dean of Students, the Office of Integrated Services if necessary, and the Office of Residential Life if the case is a residence hall resident. If the case tests positive, the patient self-isolates for 10 days and must have a negative PCR test result by the end of the 10th day before returning to campus. These updates may affect the decision to increase and expand the testing program with the start of the summer semester to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the risk of exposure.

If any member of the AUC community faces an emergency off campus, they should contact the nearest hospital or call 123 for the Egyptian Ambulance Service. At least one week before the event, the Office of Medical Services receives requests from the relevant department for the provision of medical assistance, including details such as location, number of participants and the nature and duration of the event. Medical insurance may include doctors, nurses, golf cart (New Cairo campus only) and ambulance depending on the size and medical requirements of the event.

The AUC physician approves reports and recommendations in the case of an external treating physician. As part of the legal requirement to renew work permits, non-Egyptian workers must undergo several laboratory tests, including HIV tests.

STUDENT LIFE

Contacts and suspected cases must remain in self-isolation for up to seven days. Violations of these procedures will be reported and may result in disciplinary action by the Office of Student Development and Community Relations. If the COVID-19 situation improves on campus a few weeks into the semester, ResLife may revisit these procedures and relax some of them. All students, faculty, staff and alumni with access to campus can use the outdoor courts and fields without having to register on AUC Connect.

All students, faculty, staff and alumni with access to campus and who are fully vaccinated will have access to the gymnasium, pool and squash courts. Vaccinated members of the AUC community who have access to campus will be added to AUC Connect and will be able to log in to use these facilities. If you have been vaccinated but do not yet have access to the AUC Connect “event” to sign up to use the gym or pool, please contact [email protected].

Please be sure to sign up one day in advance to use the gym, pool or squash courts. The daily hours of operation for the gym rooms, including the cardio and strength rooms, the pool and the squash courts, will be posted on AUC Connect. Up to 60 people can register at any one time to use the two gym rooms together.

Up to eight people can use the squash courts (two people per court) at any one time. CSW will continue to offer both on-campus and online mental health counseling sessions based on student preference and the availability of counselors. Student Disability Services will operate both on campus and online and can be reached at [email protected].

PSC will continue to offer on-campus and online risk/probation counseling sessions based on student preferences and counselor availability. For summer 2022 campus events that are approved by the University and include campus tours, the Office of Student Development and Community Relations provides students with SDCR will notify security 24 hours prior to the scheduled tour to provide access to the student ambassador(s).

LIBRARY SERVICES

SDCR will confirm the availability of the student ambassadors within two working days and send the contact information for the student ambassador(s) as well as bios. Document delivery requests may be submitted for articles and individual book chapters not currently held by the AUC Library. General inquiries, research questions and appointments: [email protected] Loans and reserves: [email protected].

RBSCL will do everything possible to assist faculty and students who need access to the University's research material. Any member of the community requiring such assistance should first arrange an interview with a librarian by contacting Walaa Temraz.
