FAMILY & CONSUMER SCIENCES and GENERAL ELECTIVES
Enables students with no elementary school experience to develop entry-level stringed instrument skills through performance and refinement of a variety of orchestral literature in an ensemble setting. Exceptions to the number of years spent in the 9-12 range for reclassification may be granted to students pursuing a planned acceleration program. Credit for grade level classification may be waived for students approved for early or mid-year graduation or for students enrolled in an approved performance-based degree plan through the Alternative Education Program.

ADVANCED PLACEMENT COURSES
Maintenance of a minimum unweighted high school GPA (which includes Dual Enrollment and High School courses). Early admission and dual enrollment full-time students are expected to enroll in and complete (2.0 unweighted college GPA) at least 12 credit hours each semester. Effective early admission and dual enrollment full-time students must take four (4) but no more than five (5) courses, totaling at least twelve (12) credit hours each semester.

DUAL ENROLLMENT REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
You will need your Social Security Number (SSN), your state's unweighted high school GPA, and your major before completing the application. Bring the completed Edgewood Registration Course Request Sheet back with you when you meet with your high school counselor. Your high school counselor will review your test scores and complete the EFSC Dual Enrollment.

Application Fee Waiver - To waive the application fee, select "Expedited High School Edition." and click Continue. Confirmation Page - Print this confirmation page and bring it to a Dual Enrollment Orientation with your stamped transcript.
DISTANCE LEARNING
It is unlawful for any person to knowingly and intentionally take an online course or exam on behalf of another person for compensation. Anyone who violates this subsection commits a misdemeanor of the second degree, which is punishable under Art.
VIRTUAL SCHOOL GUIDELINES AND AGREEMENT
He completed virtual school for the 1st semester but did not complete it by the end of the EJSHS semester, receiving a grade of Fail (WF) or Fail (WP). Semester 1 and/or Semester 2 courses must be completed by the last day of school or the student may be asked to return to their home school. The course must be completed by July 1 or the student may be asked to return to their home school.
EDGEWOOD PROMOTION REQUIREMENTS
Students must complete 1st and/or 2nd semester courses by the end of each semester as determined by the current Brevard Public Schools calendar. Dropped an EJSHS course sometime during the 2nd semester and did not finish by the end of the 2nd semester, received a Withdrawn Fail (WF) or Withdrawn Pass (WP). The course must be completed with a grade of C or better by August 1, or the student will have to return to his/her school; except for high school and high school retention courses.
GRADING SCALE
The student must continue to follow a full day schedule at Edgewood until assigned a teacher. With the exception of 9th grade students scheduled for Edgewood's on-campus virtual lab, all students scheduled for a virtual school class must leave campus. The student is on probation and must take the failed course at a virtual school over the summer for the grade to be forgiven.
GRADE POINT AVERAGE
GRADE FORGIVENESS POLICY
In all cases of grade forgiveness, only the new grade is used in the calculation of the student's average grade. Any course grade that is not replaced under the district school board's forgiveness policy will be included in the calculation of the cumulative grade point average required for graduation. All courses and grades passed must be included on the student's transcript as an accurate reflection of the student's achievement data.).
RANK-IN-CLASS
In such cases, the district's forgiveness policy shall allow substitution of the grade with a grade of "C" or higher subsequently earned in the same or comparable course. The authority for the school board to adopt a forgiveness policy does not provide authority to amend a student's record to delete the course and grade forgiven. The school board does not have the authority to delete the student's record in order to delete the first grade.

BRIGHT FUTURES SCHOLARSHIPS
A student initially eligible in the 2012-2013 academic year and beyond may earn a Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholarship for a maximum of 100% of the number of hours required to complete only one of the following programs at ' to complete a Florida public or eligible. Florida private postsecondary institution: (s.1009.536 F.S.). Created as an alternative to the current Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholars Award for students graduating in the 2016-2017 academic year and beyond. Students may receive an award for specific applied technology diplomas, technical degree programs or career certificate programs.
BENACQUISTO SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
An eligible student who is a National Merit Scholar or National Achievement Scholar and attends a Florida public postsecondary educational institution will receive an incentive award equal to the institutional cost of attendance minus the student's Florida Bright scholarship amount Futures and National Merit Scholarship or National Achievement Scholarship. An eligible student who is a National Merit Scholar or National Achievement Scholar and attends an independent postsecondary educational institution in Florida will receive an incentive award equal to the highest cost of attendance for a resident of of this state enrolled at a Florida public university, as reported by the Board of Governors of the State University System, minus the amount of the Florida Bright Future Student Scholarship and National Merit Scholarship or National Achievement Scholarship. A student may receive the incentive award for a maximum of 100 percent of the number of credit hours required to complete an undergraduate degree program, or until completion of an undergraduate degree program, whichever occurs first.
TESTING
A Geometry End of Course (EOC) assessment will be required for all students enrolled in Geometry or an equivalent course. A Biology End of Course (EOC) assessment will be required for all students enrolled in Biology or equivalent. Students will be required to take an end-of-course biology assessment after completing their first biology course or completing a three-course integrated science sequence.
The results of this test are used to determine potential for advanced placement courses (AP, AICE, and DE), to provide clear feedback on the skills needed to succeed in college, and as consistent/comparative scores for graduation. SAT: The SAT Reasoning Test is a test that measures the reading, writing and math level of high school and college students. Advanced Placement/International Baccalaureate/Advanced International Certificates of Education Programs: A series of college-level subject area tests taken after completion of an AP/IB/AICE course in high school.
POST-HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION
It is recommended that students committing to college consider taking this test earlier in their high school career to maximize their performance on future college placement tests. ACT: A curriculum-based test that measures skills needed for college assignments in English, math, reading, and science thinking. Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (PERT): A series of content-specific tests in reading, math, and writing to determine whether students need remediation before beginning college courses.
