ALL-WHEEL CONTROL (AWC)

You select your desired driving mode and the RVR’s Electronically Controlled All-Wheel Control (AWC) does the rest. Drive in 2WD mode for everyday dry pavement conditions with optimal fuel economy, 4WD AUTO mode when conditions become wet and slippery, or easily switch on the fly to 4WD Lock for loose surfaces. Leaving the setting in 4WD AUTO allows the RVR to take charge and lets the system automatically choose between 2WD and 4WD for you. Full control and a safe driving experience, all at the touch of a button.
STANDARD TRACTION AND BRAKING SYSTEMS
When faced with slippery road conditions or emergency braking, the RVR’s traction and braking systems will help keep you in control. Active Stability Control (ASC) and Traction Control Logic (TCL) work to maintain traction between the front/rear and left/right wheels. These systems work along with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) that keeps individual wheels from locking up during hard braking, while Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD) adjusts braking force between the front and rear wheels.

For 2015, RVR features a new-generation CVT available on certain trims. Already one of the most efficient transmissions available, the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) operates on a pulley system, allowing infinite variability between the highest and lowest ratios. Instead of shifting gears, it adapts to changing vehicle speeds and helps keep the engine operating efficiently. This new generation ensures even greater efficiency, responsiveness and smoothness.
