USC’s Center on Science, Technology, and Public Life (STPL) is awarding summer stipends of up to $2500 for PhD students who are conducting research on topics related to the social studies of science, technology and medicine. Applications are open to all PhD students in the humanities and social sciences at USC whose work engages these themes, with preference to students who are enrolled or planning to enroll in the graduate certificate program in Science and Technology Studies. Selected applicants will present their research the following academic year.

Proposal Guidelines
Each proposal should include the following:
(1)A brief project description (no more than one single-spaced page) includingaims and research questions, methods to be used, and envisioned outcome. Please be sure to explain its connection to the social studies of science,technology and medicine.
(2)A bio, which should include discipline, current stage in the PhD process, anddepartmental mentor / dissertation advisor.
(3)A condensed (1 – 2 page) CV.
