2021 Summer Research Stipends for USC Ph.D. Students
USC’s Center on Science, Technology, and Public Life (STPL) is awarding summer stipends of up to $2500 for PhD students who are conducting research on topics related to the social studies of science, technology and medicine. Applications are open to all PhD students in the humanities and
social sciences at USC whose work engages these themes, including those students pursuing a graduate certificate in Science and Technology Studies.

Proposal Guidelines
Each proposal should include the following:
(1) A brief project description (no more than one single-spaced page) including aims and research questions, methods to be used, and envisioned outcome.
Please be sure to explain its connection to the social studies of science, technology and medicine.
(2) A bio, which should include discipline, current stage in the PhD process, and departmental mentor / dissertation advisor.
(3) A condensed (1 – 2 page) CV.
