The music video was featured in an episode of Beavis and Butt-head, where the duo comment on the video's lack of originality, however they commented that the song sounded "kinda cool". The song itself was used as the ending theme for the U.S. release of Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie, as well as in the 2000 film Charlie's Angels, directed by Joseph McGinty Nichol, who has directed several Korn videos. This song was also featured in the 2k Sports video game NHL 2k8. The song is also featured on the tracklist for Madden NFL 10.

"Shoots and Ladders" is a song written and recorded by American nu metal band Korn for their self-titled debut album. It was released as the album's second single in 1995.
Music and structure
The title is a mockery of American children's game Chutes and Ladders (also known in the UK as Snakes and Ladders), with the song's lyrics mostly consisting of nursery rhymes. It is the first Korn song to feature bagpipes.
The song uses the following nursery rhymes in its lyrics:
• "Ring Around the Rosie"
• "One, Two, Buckle My Shoe"
• "London Bridge Is Falling Down"
• "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep"
• "This Old Man"
"Shoots and Ladders" 142
• "Mary Had a Little Lamb"
Concept
"It was written because all these little kids sing these nursery rhymes and they don't know what they originally meant. Everyone is so happy when singing 'Ring Around the Rosie' but it is about the Black Plague. All of them have these evil stories behind them." – Jonathan Davis
Live performance
The song has been a concert staple since Korn started playing larger venues, although it was absent for most of the band's tour dates in support of their untitled album. During the Escape From the Studio Tour, the intro is played on bagpipes by Jonathan prior to "Helmet in the Bush". During some live performances, the song is followed by a short cover version of Metallica's "One". Other occasions included an instrumental excerpt of "Daddy" as an introduction, as well as various medleys of other Korn songs. A small excerpt of "The Blister Exists" by Slipknot was played within "Shoots and Ladders" at the 2007 Graspop Metal Meeting, most likely due to Korn's touring drummer at the time being Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison.
Music video
Like previous single, "Blind", the video for "Shoots and Ladders" shows clips of Korn performing in front of an energetic crowd. Korn is also seen performing in front of fake castle-like buildings. Munky can be seen with duct tape over his mouth coming out of a field of weeds and in the beginning, Jonathan can be seen tied up, hanging upside down. Other unknown people, who are believed to be friends of the band, appear in various clips as well. The band admits that this was the most difficult video they have ever done. The video aired in October 1995. "Shoots and Ladders" was filmed in a mini-golf court located in Downey, California.
Awards
The song was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1997 for Best Metal Performance. This would be Korn's first nomination in any Grammy category.

"Need To" 145
Music and structure
The song features elements of an older Korn song, "Alive", which was found on their demo tape, Neidermeyer's Mind. "Alive" was eventually reworked and re-recorded for the band's sixth studio album, Take a Look in the Mirror.
Concept
"'Need To' is about being in a relationship with someone you love so much but you are too scared to get close to them because you're paranoid that they may stop loving you.
You pull me closer, I push you away,
You tell me it's okay, I can't help but feel the pain.
I was used to being used by people I loved and any future relationship was going to feel the same. Every time I thought I was getting too close, I would push her away." – Jonathan Davis
Live performance
The song was performed frequently during the band's early shows. After several years of being absent from the setlist, it returned as part of the song "Alive" during the 2003 Back 2 Basics Tour. It was also played during the 2006 See You on the Other Side Tour within a medley. The song is now part of the setlist of the band's 2010 Ballroom Blitz Tour.
