COURSE DETAILS
The six sigma champion is a senior management team member who sponsors six sigma projects, without necessarily taking part in the improvement activity itself. His/her role is to select improvement projects based on organisation goals, resource the projects, sponsor the teams and ensure projects are brought to a satisfactory conclusion and benefits for the individuals and organisation are quantified.
In order to support projects, it is important that the champion understands the six sigma approach to problem solving and understands the tools used to resolve problems.
Learning Objective
This 4-day training course will enable the senior management team to sponsor six sigma projects effectively. It forms a vital introduction to the six sigma programme, and sets expectations in terms programme content, duration, effect on the organisation and role of the champion in the programme.
The champion programme will enable participants to:
• have a common understanding of six sigma principles & practices
• have an understanding of the level of organisation resources required for effective implementation
• understand the nature and scope of six sigma projects
• understand the personal characteristics of successful green belt and black belt candidates • learn what to expect in terms of results & timing of results
• have a clear understanding of the programme roadmap (2-5 years) • have a working knowledge of the tools used by green belts • support GBs in leading their projects to completion
• Have an informed debate on the next steps for the company.
