The Four Kerubim, or I loly Living Creatures, are also the four rivers of the Garden of Eden, and they represent the coalescing and solidification of spiritual energy into material form.
They act as the subtle framework for matter to be attracted to (if such already exists in Malkuth/Assiah) as well as the framework upon which it Ls formed (if it is coming into existence out of Yesod/Yetzirah).

They bind and hold energy together (as such, they are closely related to the gravitational force of elemental earth) but arc Huidic and belong to a subtle energy that connccts them to the invisible. It is best to think of the visible and invisible worlds as two overlapping spheres at this junction where etheric is neither one nor the other, but both.
You affect tlw etheric and you affect the physical; yon affect the physical and yon affect the etheric.
The ethers tend to concentrate in organs of the body, as seen in the Egyptian Canopic jars, but there is little agreement on the attributions of various schools.
Earth Ether tends to hold the entire organism together via the skeletal structure and through the functions of the heart.
Water Ether tends to concentrate in the sexual fluids (but also in the endocrine system) and the spleen as a means of purification.
Air Ether tends to concentrate in the nervous system as well as organs of respiration or absorption.
l ire Ether tends to conccntratc in the blood, liver, and brain.
All of these "ethers" are radiated from the sun in our solar system, reflecting as it were the most basic primordial energies of Unity (Kcthcr) and the seed ideas of the four elements or ethers as seen in the Four I loly Living Creatures. They arc identical to the four pranas of yoga. The sun is the source of these energies, distributing them in balance and harmony via the planets. This combination of planetary and pure elemental energy creates the relationships we experience as the zodiacal signs.

These are just generalizations, and it is important that each student experience the nature of the complex relationships of these energies that crcatc and hold our body together.
"As above,so below. All from the One Thing."
Creation: "In the Beginning . .
Traditional Egyptian creation myths are numerous, but they all can be summed up in the idea that out of "nothingness" a god or goddess self- creates itself. This god or goddess then either creates other gods and goddesses who perform the act of creating the known universe, or the self-created one forms it as well. This often is seen as a mound of earth surrounded by, or coming out of, the primordial waters. Fire arises and has its own island of fire, with air separating earth and heavenly water. A similar story is found in Genesis.
During the Renaissance, Jewish mysticism, or Kabbalah, became the central focus around which much Hermetic cosmology was built and understood, and alchemy became its central practice. Astrology crossed over, as it was concerned \\
ith personal as well as cosmological questions and shared symbolism and applications with both systems.
The following exercise will help you identify the relation of the various organs, tissues, and functions of the body to the psychic heart. Using the healing, creative, and dynamic power of your "inner sun," you will purify the energy of these organs utilizing color, emotion, and sound.
"The Sun rules the heart. The Moon rules the brain. Venus rules the veins. Saturn rules the spleen. Mercury rules the liver.
Jupiter rules the lungs. Mars rules the gall."

While the above is good for starters, there are additional correspondences that are important for the variety of conditions that one may encounter:
Sun
All life is sustained by the powerful magnetic radiations of the Sun. The Sun rules the mind, the sense of self, willpower, energy, integration, wholeness, am thing having to do with organization, and personal power.
In the physical body, the Sun rules the heart, circulation, the spinal column, general wellness, distribution of heat, the thymus gland, pons Varolii (control of breath), and the eyes (right in men, left in women).
In conjunction with Saturn. Virgo, and Scorpio, the Sun rules the spleen; the (sexual-etheric) energies transformed by the spleen are carried to the solar plexus for distribution to the entire body. The Sun is masculine, libidinal, and conscious.
Organic, structural, or constitutional diseases arise from a lack of solar energy.
Moon
The Moon collects the solar energy across the year as it moves through the twelve signs of the zodiac. The Moon rules growth, fertility, conception, birth, family life (especially motherhood), the subconscious and psychic life (dreams), natural rhythms and instinctual life, and also reflection, passivity, and meditation.
The Moon rules the breasts (and lactation), the stomach, the womb and ovaries, menstruation, the bladder, urination, and all fluids, including those of the endocrine system and their transformation. It also rules the esophagus and thyroid (with Mercury and Scorpio), the pancreas, the brain as a whole, the cerebellum, memory, and the tonsils (with Taurus).
The Moon is changeable, familiar, feminine, and motherly, with a mix of bright and dark traits of kindness and raw instinct.
Cyclic diseases, irregular menses, and any of the lunar organs are under the Moon's influence.

Mercury
Mercury is associated with Hermes, the patron of medicine. Mercury rules the intellect, mediation (bringing together of opposite* via Gemini), transmission of information, translation, mental and nerve processes, speech, writing, manual skill (dexterity), aloofness, and distribution of energies.
Mercury rules the nervous system (with Uranus), organs of hearing and speech, nerves in the arms (movement) and abdomen (assimilation), organs of respiration, mind-bodv coordination, the teet (as movement), the brain (with the Moon), the thyroid, nerve endings in any area, and the sensory organs. The Sun-like cerebrum and the Moon-like cerebellum are linked via the Mercurial pons.
Venus
Venus is related to alchemy and spagyric practices. Art, harmony, proportion, integration of separate parts into a whole (seven into one) and opposite* (via Libra), music, and luxury arc ruled by Venus.
Venus rules the metamorphoses of cells and the transformation within cells and tissue (fermentation and fertilization), particularly the skin and face; it also rules the reproduction and enhancement of substances (such as perfumes or spagyric tinctures), and as such the sense of smell. Venus rules the preservation of the physical body, the kidneys, the parathyroid, the thymus, the stomach veins, the internal sexual organs, the female breasts (when not lactating), the appetite, the intestines, the process of elimina-tion, the palate, and to some degree the spine.
Mars
Mars is powerful, with its effects being either constructive or destructive. It accelerates and intensifies whatever comes into contact with its active and dynamic energy.
Mars rules the muscular system, body heat (with the Sun), the red corpuscles of die blood (blood strength and purity), the male sexual organs, adrenaline, sexual drive, the suprarenal glands, and the formation of blood (with the Sun and Jupiter).

Combined, the Sun and Mars bring vitality, courage, and initiative. The vital processes are ruled by Mars, in connection with Jupiter, Leo. Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and Virgo. The motor nerves, the gall, the left brain, the left car, the head, and head injuries arc also influenced by Mars, as are the Secret Fire and the astral body.
The process of elimination, inflammation, and surgeries are under its domain.
Instinctual energies for procreation and sclf-prcscrvatio 11 arc ruled by Mars; as such, it influences so-called animal magnetism, or the ethcric body and energy.
Jupiter
Jupiter gives a gieat deal of energy to the earth, and it is often combined with the Sun and Mars in various effects. Jupiter rules the liver, the arteries (flow of blood away from the heart), especially of the stomach (assimilation of food) and legs, fibrin in the blood (with Mars and Pisces), the spleen, the kidneys (with Venus), fatty tissues, the body's ability- to fight disease, oxygen in the blood, the lungs, the right ear, sperm, and general maintenance of the body. Jupiter influences the occipital lobe of the hypophysis (pituitary body) and body growth.
Diseases of Jupiter are due to immoderation in food intake, poor digestion, weak blood, and congestion. Jupiter does not cause diseases, but cxccss will trigger poor aspects with other planets.
Saturn
Saturn is the planet of restriction, contraction, and limitation. It is the natural counterbalance to Jupiter's outgoing nature, and it is the planet of karma (Hook of Life), or cosmic bookkeeping.
Self-discipline Is required to experience the positive benefits of Saturn; otherwise, it appears negative, hostile, and punitive. Saturn guards the entrance to the invisible worlds (thirty-second path) as the "Guardian of the Threshold."
Saturn rules time, chronic diseases, the bones, the teeth, flexibility of the spine, all aging processes, the anterior lobe of the pituitary, the auditory organs (including hardening of the car drum), the bladder, sterility, circulation (slowing down), absorption of minerals, the calves and knees, the cervical vertebrae, the vagus nerve, the spleen, and memory {long- term). Saturn is associated with rheumatism, calcifications, hardening of tissues, depression, melancholy, frigidity, lethargy, chronic conditions, and crankiness.
