The Fifth Lesser Quimbanda Kingdom of the Spirit Exu is known as The Kingdom of the Souls (Reino Das Almas). This Kingdom is ruled over and governed by the Spirit Exu Rei Das Almas and the Spirit Pomba Gira Reina Das Almas. The Fifth Lesser Quimbanda Kingdom of the Spirit Exu represents the spiritual energies and fried spareribs in palm oil with red and black pepper. Place all of the ritual offerings on top of the leaves of seven fresh herbs sacred to the Spirit Exu or on top of Red Poinsettia flowers.

CLEANSING BATH RITUAL PROCEDURE

Make a spiritual bath using the seven herbs sacred to the spirits, Exu Rei Das Almas and Pomba Gira Das Almas. The herbs consist of any 7 herbs chosen from the list of the herbs sacred to Exu and

Maria Padilla Reina Pomba Gira located at the back of this book.

The spiritual bath is made by boiling all of the herbs in water in a large kettle for 30 minutes. After the herbs have boil, let the bath liquid cool. After the liquid has cooled, strain the herbs from the liquid and place the liquid into a large bucket. Add Eau De Portugal Cologne to the liquid bath mixture.

RITUAL PROCEDURE

Draw the spirit signatures of Exu Rei Das Almas and the Pomba Gira Das Almas on a flat surface. Around both of the spirit signatures draw the Quimbanda Cross so that both spirit signatures are in the center of the Quimbanda Cross. Place a red candle, a black candle and a white candle in that order in the center of the Quimbanda Cross directly on top of the spirit signatures. Light the three candles before beginning the cleansing ritual in the following order, first the red candle, second the black candle and third the white candle.

FIRST RITUAL CONJURATION Standing towards the East, do and say the following:

Using your right hand, make the sign of the Quimbanda Trinity Cross over your body. The Quimbanda Trinity sign of the Cross is made by touching the hand sequentially to the forehead, lower chest or navel area, and right shoulder, then left shoulder and

then placing your hands together in a praying position and then kissing your hands three times. This is how to say and do this: at the forehead, IN THE NAME OF NZAMBI; at the naval, IN THE NAME OF EXU MAIORAL; across to the right shoulder, IN THE NAME OF EXU REI; across to the right left shoulder, IN THE NAME OF MARIA PADILLA REINA; and finally to the center of your heart while placing your hands together in a praying position, SARAVA;

afterwards kiss your hands three times.

SECOND RITUAL CONJURATION

While standing towards the East, start to ring a bell in your right hand and say the following:

After completing and reciting the invocation prayer, then take a cleansing spiritual bath using the liquid herb mixture. While you

are bathing, use a good spiritual soap for cleansing. (Coconut Soap, Quimbanda Ritual Soap or African Black Soap)

Do this entire ritual and bath for seven consecutive nights. On the last night after taking the last of the ritual cleansing baths, you must take an offering to the spirits, Exu Rei Das Almas and the Pomba Gira Das Almas and leave it by the crossroads of a hospital or a funeral parlor.

When you leave the offering you should ring the ritual bell facing the crossroads of the hospital or funeral parlor petitioning the spirits, Exu Rei Das Almas and the Pomba Gira Das Almas to grant you your request.

The spiritual offering will consist of a plate of ritually prepared food and a lighted black candle, red candle and white candle.

Leave 7 pennies as payment to the Quimbanda spirits for their services.
