2.3. Mecanismos de acceso a la justicia ordinaria en el idioma materno

Y ou do not have to take part in this study if you do not want to. The Jobcentre has given perm ission for the research to take place on their prem ises, but the research is com pletely independent from the Jobcentre. The research is funded and organised by U niversity C ollege London and Islington Mental Health N H S Trust and they em ploy the researcher who is a trainee psychologist. Your decision whether to take part or not w ill not affect your B enefit Rights or the m anagement o f your case with the Jobcentre or Benefits A gency in any way. If you do decide to take part you will be asked to sign a consent form but you are still free to withdraw at any tim e and without giving a reason. Y ou w ill be given a copy o f the consent form and this information sheet for you to keep.

What will happen to me if I take part?

I w ill ask you to fill in som e questionnaires about your m ood and feelings, w hich should take about 30-40 minutes. After com pletion o f all the questionnaires, I w ill give you a £5 .0 0 gift voucher to W oolw orth’s as a thank you for taking part. H ow ever, as I am looking to hear from p eople who do not have a drug- or alcohol- m isuse problem and w ho are not currently in contact with any mental health services, you w ill first have to answer a few questions about your drug- and alcohol- use, recent contact with mental health services and give a few personal details (age, gender & ethnic background). This is in order to find out if there are any reasons why you cannot take part in the study. All information collected about you w ill be kept strictly confidential and Jobcentre staff w ill not have any access. The information w ill be coded by number and your name w ill not appear on any forms. H ow ever, if during our m eeting you should say som ething that might make m e concerned for your safety or the safety o f others, I may have to inform your GP. H ow ever, if that should becom e necessary I w ill inform you before doing so.

What will happen to the results of the research study?

The results o f the research w ill be written up, as part o f a thesis, which it is hoped, w ill be published. Y ou w ill not be identified in any report or publication. If you would like a summary o f the findings please leave your address with me.
