7. MECANISMOS DE PARTICIPACIÓN CIUDADANA 13 Numeral

7.1 MECANISMOS DE PARTICIPACIÓN CIUDADANA EN EL CONTEXTO DEL COVID-19

Year 2010-11 2011-12 2012-13 2013-14 weightages assigned for the overall development of students (weightage for behavioral aspects, independent learning, communication skills etc.

As the course is professional there is a provision of internal assessment.

According to performance of the student in different components of Practicum marks are

university which is revealed in mark sheets of the student.

The institution takes the preliminary examination at the Graduate and the Post-Graduate Level. Later, the papers solved by the students are corrected and distributed back among the student. This enables them to identify their weakness and strength in particular subject. It also gives them an opportunity to know the methods to solve the paper in the final exam.

2.5.7 Does the institution and individual teachers use assessment/evaluation as an indicator for evaluating student performance, achievement of learning objectives and planning? If ‘yes’ provide details on the process and cite a few examples.

This has been practiced partially, students are assessed by the subject teacher and class teacher. Mentor mentee scheme is also implemented for this purpose. According to the status of the student, help is provided. Counselling services are also available for the student.

The institution and individual teacher uses assessment / evaluation as an indicator for evaluating the student performance, achievement of learning objectives and planning by using the methods of Unit test and Preliminary Examination. According to the status of the student, help is provided.

2.5.8 What are the mechanisms for Redressal of grievances with reference to evaluation both at the college and University level?

Grievances Redressal Cell in college has been established in college before two years as per guidelines provided by University. At university level similar body is also there for students and faculties.

2.6

Student performance and Learning Outcomes

2.6.1 Does the college have clearly stated learning outcomes? If ‘yes’ give details on how the students and staff are made aware of these?

The learning outcomes are mentioned in the University syllabus and the institution adheres to the syllabus prescribed by the University. In this way, the students and faculties are made aware about the learning outcomes. These are also conveyed to students in college prospectus & orientation program.

2.6.2 How are the teaching, learning and assessment strategies of the institution structured to facilitate the achievement of the intended learning outcomes?

 The institution encourages the best practices regarding the teaching and the respective faculties take special interest in improving them.

 Lots of deliberation is done at the departmental level in relation to the learning and evaluation system.

Evaluation reforms were utilized and the quality initiatives were undertaken.

Internal assessment has been done on the basis of student’s performance in various academic activities. Reforms in teaching methods have been made to achieve the learning outcomes. Seminars, Self Study, class assignments, are conducted for students and library access for all students and internet access to PG students are provided.

2.6.3 What are the measures/initiatives taken up by the institution to enhance the social and economic relevance (quality Jobs, entrepreneurship, innovation and research aptitude) of the courses offered?

The social work curriculum is designed according to the social, economical, vocational development, entrepreneurship, employment opportunities. The college formed a separate and individual cell Career Guidance & Job Placement Cell, which organizes various programmes to implement its functions.

Weekly conferences are arranged to analyze the innovations and research aptitude. Career Guidance programmes and Campus interviews are organized time to time.

2.6.4 How does the institution collect and analyse data on student learning outcomes and use it for planning and overcoming barriers of learning?

Through Result analysis, Mentor Mentee Scheme, weaker areas of students are identified and accordingly help is provided.

The other methods deployed by the institute to collect and analyze data on student learning outcomes are Unit test, Prelims, Internal viva-voce, External viva-voce, Examination conducted by the University. After deploying these methods, the outcomes are verified and the future action is planned accordingly. During the course, the grievances occurring are redressed.

2.6.5 How does the institution monitor and ensure the achievement of learning outcomes?

Through result analysis and performance of the student in various academic activities. The achievements of the learning outcomes are measured on the basis of the marks secured by the student. In 2008-09, MSW student Sunita Ambadare was among the top ten in merit list.

2.6.6 What are the graduates attributes specified by the college/affiliating university? How does the college ensure the attainment of these by the students?

The graduate’s attributes specified by the college are as follows.

1. The students are expected to have at least 75% of aggregate attendance in the theory classes and 60% attendance in each theory paper.

2. The students are required to submit their assignment to the concern teacher within the stipulated time.

3. The student must appear for all the class test/examination conducted by the college.

4. 100% attendance in the field work is compulsory and other components, failing to which he/she will be disallowed to compensate for the same.

5. All the students must maintain field work diary, journal provided by the college.

6. Students are expected to behave maturely and responsibly during various activities in the session.

7. Students must not engage themselves in ragging that might result into legal action.

8. They should adhere the basic ideology of the college.

The students are expected to strictly adhere to the discipline of the college. Their activities are monitored by Class in charge, Field work supervisor, their Mentor and other staff members. Action is taken if any kind of deviation is reported to discipline committee.
