Motivos que justifican el uso de ATM

2.1 A TM Asynchronous Transfer Mode

2.1.2 Motivos que justifican el uso de ATM

This section will allow users to order or manage additional services, and allow users to see what specials and additional services that AIT has recently added.

Order

In this section, users will be able to order or request additional services. Some of these services are free, while others are paid; however, they will require the user to move through the SMT to another location to order the service.

Figure 10-1 below shows an example of the interface. Services such as telnet or cron jobs can be requested, along with ordering the Anti-Spam service and other paid for services.

Figure 10-1

Upon ordering services, users will want to manage them. Links to the default installations or locations of the applications and services are put in this section. Users can select from the list of Quick Links for the appropriate services they wish to manage.

Anti-Spam Service

The Anti-Spam Service now has an interface. This interface is a new offering with the SMT 4.1. Figure 10-2 below shows an example of the screen that users will see. This screen configures the Anti-Spam Service and generates the appropriate

configurations for the Anti-Spam Service on the server. The configurations are as follows:

Score Threshold Options – This option sets the score that will be the line that spam is set at. Scores higher than this benchmark will be labeled as spam. The default configuration of 5.0 is the strictest and will mark the greatest amount of email as spam.

Remote Message Subjects – This option will “mark up” or replace the subject line for spam messages with what the user inputs into the field. There is another option not to rewrite the subject line.

Encapsulate Spam in Attachments – This option uses attachments for the spam, which ensures that the user does not preview the message. This option is the default selection; however, it can be changed to keep the spam as a text only attachment, or not to use attachments at all and just to display the email as is.

Use Terse Reports – The default of this option is to use full reporting when identifying email as spam. The alternate option is to use a much shorter reporting format of why the message was marked as spam.

Use Bayes System – The Bayes system is an engine used by the service for probability and relationship building between different functions. This system is the logic behind this service, and ensures that it is a true engine and not just a filtering system. The default for this option is ‘on’ for obvious reasons. • Use Auto Learning – This option, on by default, will learn the email pattern of the user. It will create a database of what it has learned. For example, if learning is on, it may learn that you receive email from a specific address, and it appears to always be marked as spam and have a score of over 10. This is used to ensure that more and more spam can be identified and marked.
