6.2 Perspectivas del trabajo

Once you have Identified the core belief that you want to work with, rate it on the Validity of Cognition (VOC) level as a percentage. The VOC level is a way of determining how much somethi ng is a problem for you right now. By determ ining this, you can then chart your progress, because as you start to resolve different memories on this theme, the VOC level will reduce. For example, 100 per cent would be 'I totally believe this to be true for me' and 10 per cent would be 'This is only a slight problem for

me.' Make a note of your score.

You may have a whole host of memories that you need to work on in relation to the belief. Each one is likely to reduce the VOC score. Sometimes, a single memory is entirely responsible for a belief and collapsing that memory may collapse the belief altogether. Other times you may work with a memory which brings the VOC level down by, say 2, 5 or 10 per cent.

However, do not underestimate the power of reducing the voc level by even a tiny amount. Each reduction will change your point of attraction, make you feet better about yourself and reduce the power of that negatiVe belief for you.

If you don't know which memories to work on, try the Matrix Recall Technique (which has been adapted from the 8-L-0-W EFT technique by Silvia Hartmann) as follows. First of all, use the belief that you are working on as a global set-up statement, tapping on karate chop point three times as you say:

'Even though [limiting core belief], I totally love and accept myself. '

For example:

'Even though I must be perfect to be loved. .. '

'Even though something must change for me to be OK. •• '

Next, close your eyes. Tap on one point for a number of minutes as you repeat the reminder phrase silently and oocastonalty in your mind. For example, if your set-up phrase was 'Even though something must change for me to be OK. .. ' you would silently repeat 'Something must change for me to be OK' every now and again with your eyes closed, while tapping on one point, such as the crown, for a couple of minutes. Then move to the next point Continue this until you tune Into a relellant

Once a relevant memory has come to mind, once again use either Matrix Scene Reimprlnting or Matrix Memory Reimprinting to work through it.

Each time you have resolved a memory, make a note of the change i n the VOC level. It should reduce every time you clear a related memory.

Repeat steps 3 to 5 as many times as you need to until the core belief that you have been working on has a VOC level of zero.

Sasha has found that core-belief work has liberated her, many of her clients and her workshop attendees from destructive beliefs they have had for years. While writi ng this section, it made her smile (almost with disbelief!) that only a couple of years before, when Karl first introduced her to core-belief work, she was still running the belief that she was unlovable at 80 per cent. She needed to clear a number of memories from past relationships, which included being with someone for several years who wasn't able to verbalize his love for her and with someone else who told her, 'I do love you, just not enough.' Of course, as most of these beliefs generated from child hood, she also needed to use Matrix Reimprinting to give her younger self the experience of having some quality time with her father, whose alcoholism had meant that he had not spend any qual ity time with her as a child. With these new 'memories' in place, the belief that she is not lovable has not resonated since. And of course, this has had a massive impact on her present-day relationship with her partner and also on how she feels about herself in general.
