Rules
To be eligible for the award of Bachelor of Arts (BA), a student must acquire 240CP as prescribed below: One Major option:
• gain 60CP for the compulsory Social Enterprise 'signature experience' comprising: o 20CP of compulsory first year courses and
o 20CP of compulsory second year courses and o 20CP of compulsory third year courses
• complete a major* (together with at least 10CP of first year foundation courses attached to the major):
o gain a minimum of 30CP of free-‐choice electives
o gain at least 60CP (but no more than 100CP) of first year courses o gain at least 60CP of courses at third year level
o gain no more than 30CP for courses in which the grade of Pass Conceded has been attained. [*] A major is 80CP of second and third year courses except for the Language and Cultures major which is 60CP.
Two Major option:
• complete 20CP of compulsory first year courses
• complete two majors* (together with at least 10CP of first year foundation courses from each major) • gain a minimum of 30CP of free-‐choice electives
• gain at least 60CP (but no more than 100CP) of first year courses • gain at least 60CP of courses at third year level
• gain no more than 30CP for courses in which the grade of Pass Conceded has been attained
• Students wishing to complete a major from outside the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences via the accumulation of electives will need to consult the Program Convenor.
• Students who do not wish to undertake the Social Enterprise strand must declare two majors prior to enrolment in their second year.

One Major Option
• Level 1
o 2 x compulsory first year courses (20 CP)
o 1 x unit from first year courses attached to their chosen major/s o 5 x first year electives
• Level 2
o 2 x compulsory Social Enterprise units
o 4 x units at level 2 from chosen major (except for Languages and Cultures or Islamic Studies) o 2 x elective units
• Level 3
o 2 x compulsory Social Enterprise courses
o 4 x level 3 units from their chosen major (except for Languages and Cultures or Islamic Studies)
o 2 x elective units
Two Major Option
• Level 1
o 2 x compulsory first year courses (20 CP)
