21-0 lead in the first quarter on three touchdown passes from QB Joe Flacco to rookie wide

receiver Torrey Smith. The three receptions were the first receptions of Smith’s career. In the

second quarter, the Ravens added six more points on two kicker Billy Cundiff field goals, giving

Baltimore a 27-0 lead at halftime. Baltimore extended their lead to 30-0 before Rams QB Sam

Bradford connected with wide recevier Brandon Gibson for a 34-yard touchdown reception. The

reception was the first touchdown of the season for Gibson, and the longest touchdown reception

of his career. The Rams defense continued to fight, with LB Chris Chamberlain sacking Flacco,

forcing him to fumble. The fumble was recovred by S Quintin Mikell. The sack marked the first of

Chamberlain’s career and the third turnover Mikell has been involved in in three consecutive games.

On the ensuing possession, LB Ray Lewis sacked Bradford, forcing him to fumble. The fumble

was recovered by DT Halotati Ngata and returned 28 yards for a touchdown for the final score.

The Rams lost their fourth consecutive game to the NFC East Washington Redskins, 17-10. The Redskins got on the board late in the first quarter when QB Rex Grossman connected with WR Santana Moss on a 6-yard touch- down reception to give Washington a 7-0 lead. The Redskins extended the lead to 14-0 when RB Ryan Torian scored on a 20-yard run. Early in the third quarter, K Graham Gano hit a 38-yard field goal to give Washington a 17-0 lead. The Rams got on the board when K Josh Brown made a 32-yard field goal that was set up by an inter- ception and 51-yard return by CB Justin King. The Interception marked the the second interception for the Rams this season, first of King’s career. The Rams closed the gap again when QB Sam Bradford found RB Steven Jackson for a 15-yard touchdown reception, making the score 17-10. The touchdown was his eighth receiving touchdown of his career and 56th overall, breaking a tie with Elroy “Crazy Legs” Hirsch for fifth most in Rams his- tory. Jackson now needs just two receptions to tie Jim Phillips for eighth on the team’s all-time list. Jackson now has 331 career catches. On Washington’s ensuing possession, LB James Laurinaitis intercepted Grossman on the first play and returned it 15 yards to Washington’s 19-yard line. The interception was the first of the season for Laurinaitis, fourth of his career. Although the Rams had favorable field position, the offense could not capitalize and the game ended, 17-10. P Donnie Jones punted eight times for an average of 45.0 yards per attempt and a net average of 42.1 yards per punt. In the process, he became the franchise’s all-time leader in career punting yards with 17,486, passing Dale Hatcher (17,302). Although amassing a season-high 424 total yards, the Rams could not top the Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers, losing the Week 6 matchup 24-3. QB Sam Bradford threw for 321 yards, marking his second 300-yard passing game of the season, third of his career. RB Steven Jackson rushed for 96 yards on 18 carries and added four receptions for 29 yards. Jackson’s four receptions pushed him past Jim Phillips (333) for eighth on the Rams’ all-time receptions list with 335 career grabs. The Packers did all of their scoring in the first half, jumping out to a 24-0 lead starting with a 32-yard field goal by K Mason Crosby. Two Packers possessions later, QB Aaron Rodgers connected with WR James Jones for a 35-yard touchdown. On the ensuing Packers possession, Rodgers connected for another touchdown possession, this time finding WR Jordy Nelson for a 93-yard scoring reception. With less that two minutes left Rodgers threw his third touchdown of the game to WR Donald Driver, a 7-yard connection. The Rams shortened the Packers lead at the end of the first half when K Josh Brown hit a 36-yard field goal. Rams WR Danario Alexander led the team in receiving with 91 yards on a career-tying six catches. Rookie TE Lance Kendricks, a native of Wisconsin, set career highs with a 45-yard reception and totaled 71 yards on four receptions. The Rams extended their streak of consecutive games with at least one takeaway to 11 when S Craig Dahl intercepted Rodgers in the fourth quarter. The interception marked the first for Dahl this season, third of his career.
