CITY COUNCIL DECISION MEETING NOTICE

PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT

Further to the Public Meeting held on July 3, 2012, City Council will consider the Zoning By-law Amendment application from Black, Shoemaker, Robinson and Donaldson Limited (on behalf of Hira Custom Homes Inc.) for the property known as 172 Niska Road at an upcoming Council meeting.

Meeting Date: November 5, 2012

Location: Council Chambers, City Hall, 1 Carden Street

Time: 7:00 p.m.

SUBJECT LANDS

172 Niska Road: The subject property is located on the south side of Niska Road, east of Ptarmigan Drive. The property is directly across from the intersection of Whitaker Court and Niska Road. The property has a frontage along Niska Road of approximately 53.3 metres. The subject lands have an area of approximately 0.44 hectares.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT OF APPLICATION

The applicant is requesting to rezone the property from the Urban Reserve (UR) Zone to the Residential Single Detached ‘B’ (R.1B) Zone to permit the construction of three (3) single detached residential dwellings.

If the Zoning is approved by Council, it is the owner’s intention to create two additional lots and one retained lot by way of consent applications so as to accommodate the eventual construction of three (3) new single detached dwellings. (See “Details of Proposal” section of notice).

HOW TO PROVIDE COMMENT

If you wish to speak to Council on the application, you must register as a delegation by contacting the City Clerk’s Office, City Hall, 519-837-5603, no later than October 31, 2012.

If you are unable to attend the Council meeting and wish to comment, please send your comments to Blair Labelle, City Clerk, in written form, no later than 4:00 p.m. on October 31, 2012 (to meet agenda distribution deadline) or noon on November 5, 2012 (to be added to the addendum).

City Staff will be providing a recommendation to Council on this application at the upcoming meeting. You have received a copy of this notice as you either provided comments on the application or you provided your full name and mailing address on the Public Meeting sign-in sheet at the initial Public Meeting.
