Un ejemplo práctico:

XXX is expected to have a clear impact in the development of a new generation of assistive robotic solutions, and in integrating the proposed technologies in a user centered design that would be used in natural testing. However, plans for usability studies are not sufficiently detailed. The wearable technology has a potential impact as a novel enabling technology for real-time human force and motion monitoring, in various areas including industry, healthcare, entertainment, or sport.

The canvas business model clearly shows the value proposition, and relations between partner developers and end users for the future market opportunity for instance in the healthcare domain.

The proposers estimate that the overall cost of the XXX Suit should not exceed 6000 Euros, in case of big lot productions. Targeting this price, the expected impact can be augmented in several domains (e.g. manufacturing, healthcare, occupational and public health, ergonomic product design) and it is likely to create new market opportunities, to strengthen

competitiveness and growth of companies because it holds the potential to improve productiveness in many companies in Europe - e.g. those providing new and innovative

products like collaborative robots and exoskeletons (Robotic Industry) and those who are using these products (Manufacturing Industry and Other Domains).

Un ejemplo práctico:

The contribution to standards is well thought out and credible, in particular in the field of assistive devices.

Regarding research data, the proposal states that it would be open at several levels: the new dataset of human motion would be collected and released as a gold open access and

compliant with the Horizon 2020 “Pilot on Open Research Data”, software would be open source, and all published papers would be released with dataset and associated software for data analysis.

The activities and quality of the proposed measures for dissemination and exploitation of results are well addressed. The target audiences and instruments to achieve them are clearly identified and criteria to evaluate the impact of dissemination are proposed. Regarding

exploitation, events and activities are planned according to the timeline of the proposed project. The responsible of this task is one proposer's representative who has the right expertise.

Communication activities target different stakeholders with different objectives: general public, potential end-users, industrial representatives and scientific community. Specific actions, tools and metrics according to the objectives and channels to reach the different

stakeholders are well planned. 4 de 8 socios son

The market is well identified and the potential impact on each sector is clearly explained. Furthermore KPIs are identified. These can measure the number of systems improved and the scientific and dissemination impacts, and help in monitoring project progress.

• Un consorcio con 11 empresas (61% del consorcio) obtiene 11 puntos en la evaluación de su IA (3,5 + 3 + 4,5).

• Obtiene los mismos puntos que el último proyecto financiado, pero éste tiene medio punto más en Impacto.

…broadly addresses the impacts listed in the WP and argues convincingly about its potential to achieve broader economic, societal and environmental impacts. It also demonstrates good awareness of the existing barriers. However, does not ground the quantification of the

anticipated impact on figures related to the business transformation it aspires to bring about or

the new processes and services it plans to introduce in the domain of XX. In addition the proposal does not present a concrete strategy to actively engage the required large number of

additional organizations. The proposal does not provide an explicit commitment for additional investment by the industrial partners.

• No consiguieron demostrar el impacto necesario de cara al

mercado y al sector al que se dirigían. Tenía 18 socios mientras que las propuestas ganadoras tenían casi 50!!

• Obtiene los mismos puntos que el último proyecto financiado, exactamente con las mismas notas.

The description of impact on the targeted market lacks details. Claimed economical impact

seems slightly overestimated given the size of the market. Societal impact on safety/security and

health applications are convincingly described. Besides XX detection, the described benefits in other application areas are credible.

Exploitation plans well address the cases of the individual components, although the case of the

integrated system is not sufficiently described.

Cómo preparar el apartado “Impacto”

Es importante tener bien presentes al menos tres

documentos durante la redacción de la propuesta: 1- El criterio de evaluación que se describe en el Manual del Evaluador.

(P.ej. Efectividad de las acciones destinadas a diseminación y explotación de resultados - El plan de trabajo deberá tener tareas específicas que aseguren la efectividad de dicho plan de diseminación).

2- El listado del impacto esperado (“Expected Impacts”) descrito en cada una de las calls publicadas en los programas de trabajo.

Los resultados esperados del proyecto deben de responder al impacto esperado, y por lo tanto el plan de trabajo, los socios, y el TRL de las tecnologías seleccionadas deben dar respuesta a este apartado.

3- La plantilla de la propuesta (“Proposal Template”) describe en dos páginas qué debe de contener el apartado Impacto.

• Expected impact listed in the work programme: Vamos listando uno a uno los impactos citados intentando plasmar la necesidad actual y cómo el proyecto en

cuestión da respuesta a éstos. Imprescindible cuantificar y ser concretos. Se

describe el efecto del resultado esperado y cómo se ha optimizado el plan de trabajo y los recursos para obtenerlo.

• Innovation capacity: (innovations meeting the needs of European and global markets): Intentamos plasmar una fotografía del mercado (Europeo y global) al

que va a ir enfocado el resultado del proyecto. Es importante demostrar que el

proyecto tiene un interés económico.

• Environmental and societal impacts: Intentamos resaltar el impacto social y la sostenibilidad medioambiental del proyecto.

• Barriers/Obstacles (regulations standards): Descripción de condicionantes del

sector al que aplica la propuesta, estándares de calidad, legislación… describir

cómo hemos planteado la propuesta teniendo esto en cuenta, de forma que

optimicemos los resultados y reduzcamos los tiempos de desarrollo.

• Increase business opportunities: Intentamos cuantificar para cada partner los

beneficios que le aportará el proyecto (IP, puestos de trabajo, nuevos productos…).

• Plan for dissemination and exploitation for the projects results: Se trata de dos planes distintos e interconectados. Descripción de acciones concretas, paquetes de trabajo, tareas destinadas a la protección de los resultados y difusión posterior. Metodología que se empleará.

• Listado de los productos/servicios explotables que deriven del proyecto.

• Management of research data generated (type of data, standards used):

Describir cómo se establecerá el flujo de información entre partners. En este sentido es importante tener en cuenta si existe algún tipo de normativa, standards que requiera el sector al que va dirigido el proyecto. Deberemos tenerlo en cuenta para reducir los tiempos de desarrollo.

• How the proposed measures will help to achieve the expected impact – Business Plan: Cada vez es más importante demostrar que tenemos un plan

establecido para explotar los resultados del proyecto, sobre todo en aquellos

proyectos que llegan a TRLs avanzados. A lo largo del proyecto usaremos la

metodología adecuada para llevarlo a cabo. ¡Debe de haber una tarea

asociada!

• El impacto no es una parte independiente de la memoria.

El diseño del proyecto, el consorcio, las tecnologías seleccionadas así como el plan de trabajo, deben responder al impacto esperado. Debemos impregnar con este mensaje toda la propuesta y no dejarlo como un apartado independiente.

• En H2020 se busca optimizar los resultados de la investigación dando lugar a productos que lleguen al

mercado. Debemos desarrollar nuevas tecnologías,

conceptos y productos, pero generando una estructura que nos ayude a optimizar los resultados y su explotación. DISEÑO de un Plan de Negocio preliminar, plan de

explotación y de difusión.

• Los evaluadores son generalistas. Debemos plasmar claramente cuáles son las necesidades del mercado e intentar entender por qué la Comisión pide dicho impacto esperado. Debemos intentar conocer cuáles son las recomendaciones de las plataformas tecnológicas o PPPs implicadas. Nos darán una idea clara de cual es la fotografía real de la situación y deberemos plasmarla en la propuesta.

• Debemos contestar de la manera más objetiva y cuantificable

posible a:

• Cuál es el resultado esperado del proyecto. • Quién y por qué requiere esos resultados.

• Cuál es el plan establecido para hacer llegar los resultados a nuestro objetivo.
