Creed

I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, (bow) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. Closing │ We Belong to You

1. In the waters of your mercy, when the old becomes the new, Souls united in the myst’ry: we belong to you.

2. Filled with gifts and filled with goodness, Spirit breathing life into, all who seek to find their purpose:

we belong to you.

As a faith community, St. Francis of Assisi established what has come to be known as the “Good Samaritan Fund”. Through this, we are able to financially help out families and/or individuals who are at a very difficult time in their lives. Needless to say, there is an “ebb and flow” to this fund, as there is to the needs we hear about. We have received funds from Catholic Charities and other groups and individuals who also con- tribute to this fund, which distributed more than $95,000 this last year.

Sister Chris administers the money and the records she keeps indicate that last year we were able to help almost 300 families or individuals, with everything from rent assistance, medical expenses, food, gas/transportation, utility bills, and many other things. Our community is the face of Christ to many who come in seeking help and kindness. Thank you for radiating God’s love through your generosity with next week’s fourth Sunday collection, which will be to support this fund.

Como comunidad de fe, San Francisco de Asís estableció lo que se conoce como el "Fondo del Buen Samaritano".
