Marian Pilgrimage to Portugal/Spain/France In celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Appari- tions of Our Lady of Fatima, I will be hosting a pil- grimage to various Marian Shrines. We will visit the shrines of Our Lady of Fatima, Our Lady of Lourdes and Our Lady of Montserrat just to mention a few.

The dates of travel are November 6th – 17th, 2017.

The mystery of the Trinity can be difficult for us to grasp. Today’s Gospel invites us to consider how the three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit— work together so that God’s salvation is made known to us. Jesus’ mission is continued through the activity of the Holy Spirit in the lives of his disciples. We have received this same Spirit through our Baptisms. The Spirit, living and working within us, reveals the mystery of God’s love for us. Just as the first disci- ples were not left orphaned, we are not orphaned; we remain in God’s embrace through the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Gather your family and invite each family member to say what he or she knows about the Holy Spirit. Read aloud today’s Gospel, John 14:15-21. What does Jesus say the Holy Spirit will do for the disciples? Through the gift of the Holy Spirit, we come to share in the love of God made known to us in Jesus. Pray together, thanking God for this gift of the Holy Spirit by praying the Prayer to the Holy Spirit:

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful.

And kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created.

And you will renew the face of the earth.

Lord,

by the light of the Holy Spirit

you have taught the hearts of your faithful.

In the same Spirit

help us to relish what is right

and always rejoice in your consolation.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Conexión Familiar del Evangelio de Hoy

El misterio de la Trinidad puede ser difícil para nosotros en enten- der. El Evangelio de hoy nos invita a considerar cómo las tres per- sonas — El Padre, El Hijo y El Espíritu Santo — trabajan juntos para que la salvación de Dios se haga conocer a nosotros. La mi- sión de Jesús continúa a través de la actividad del Espíritu Santo en las vidas de sus discípulos. Hemos recibido este mismo espíritu a través de nuestro bautizo. El espíritu, viviendo y trabajando dentro de nosotros, nos revela el misterio del amor de Dios. Así como los primeros discípulos no se quedaron huérfanos, no estamos huérfa- nos; Seguimos en el abrazo de Dios por el don del Espíritu Santo.

Reunir a tu familia e invite a cada miembro de la familia decir lo que él o ella sabe acerca del Espíritu Santo. Leer en voz alta el Evangelio de hoy, Juan 14:15-21. ¿Qué dice Jesús que el Espíritu Santo hará por los discípulos? Mediante el don del Espíritu Santo, venimos a compartir en el amor de Dios hecho conocido por noso- tros en Jesús. Oren juntos, agradeciendo a Dios por este regalo del Espíritu Santo rezando la oración al Espíritu Santo:

The change is only for the missalettes used in the Main Church during Sunday Liturgies. We will switch to a different book that will include both readings and hymns. Effective on June 10th and 11th, 2017 we will be switching to Glor y and Pr aise books for English masses. Flor y Canto and Misal del dia books for Spanish masses. The change will help the parish to save money in the long run. And we will be able to use the new books for the three Litur- gical year cycles of the Church.

Mission Appeal on May 20 and 21

Kabgayi Diocese is located in the Southern Province of Rwanda. It was erected on April 25, 1922. It has total population of 993.150 inhabitants with over 64% of them Roman Catholics.

The Diocese like many other institutions in Rwanda suffered the worst human and material de- struction and loss due to the 1994 Rwanda Genocide. We are still struggling to reconstruct our schools, churches, hospitals in the overall mission of bringing hope, peace and reconciliation to

many who have suffered tremendously. We come to this Mission Appeal with the hope that by sharing our story with our sisters and brothers in Christ we can deepen our solidarity in the salvific mission of Christ and fullness of life for all. Thank you for your support and prayers.

Infertility & Miscarriage Support: Sarah's Hope & Abraham's Promise is a spiritual support program for couples struggling with infertility and miscar- riage. Based on Catholic teaching, we combine the wisdom of modern medi- cine with the healing power of the Catholic Church. We offer a women's Bible study support group, couples healing retreats and prayer services throughout the year.

Adoption Support: Destined: Families Built by Love is a spiritual support program and monthly playgroup for adoptive families. Anyone who has built their family through the miracle of adoption is invited to meet with other families to share the joys and challenges of adoption and fostering. The play- group meets once a month in different areas of Austin.

St Albert the Great Catholic Church, Austin is hosting a Taste of Africa Gala Night on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 7 pm at the Community center; 7300 Hart Lane, Austin, Texas 78731. The highlight of the event will be the draw- ing of the Raffle. First Prize will be a 2017 Chevy Colorado, OR a 2017 Chevy Equinox, with other consolation prizes. Tickets are selling for $10 each. Parishioners of St. Albert the Great will be here THIS weekend to sell the Raffle tickets. Please support them. All proceeds will go to the building of their Parish Activity Center.
