Una Nota del Párroco

Me alegré mucho de haber tenido nuestra hora de oración el viernes 22 de enero juntos en la iglesia en el aniversario de la legalización del aborto en nuestro país hace casi cincuenta años. Durante la adoración eucarística oramos en reparación por estos grandes pecados y pedimos la misericordia de Dios. Oramos por la curación de aquellas mujeres que han tenido abortos y por sus familias. Oramos para defender la vida desde la concepción hasta la muerte natural. La vida es un gran regalo. La vida es sagrada y debe protegerse. Nuestro nuevo presidente salió con una nota sobre la fecha de la legalización del aborto en nuestro país y dijo que haría todo lo posible para asegurarse de que esta "atención médica" continuara y estaba tratando de que esta ley fuera lo más permanente posible. Necesitamos seguir rezando y defendiendo la vida.

A Note from the Pastor

I was very happy we had our hour of prayer on Friday January 22nd together in the church on the anniversary of the legalization of abortion in our country almost fifty years ago. During Eucharistic adoration we prayed in reparation for these great sins and asked God’s mercy. We prayed for healing for those women who have had abortions and for their families. We prayed that we would defend life from conception to natural death. Life is a great gift. Life is sacred and must be protected. Our new president came out with a note on the date of the legalization of abortion in our country and said he would do all he could to make sure this ‘healthcare’ continued and was trying to make this law as permanent as it could be. We need to continue to pray and defend life.

Una Nota del Párroco … connuado

El Presidente Biden también emitió algunas buenas órdenes ejecutivas que permiten más oportunidades para inmigrantes en este país y permanecer aquí de manera segura. Yo estoy feliz. Parece que nuestro anterior presidente y administración no fueron muy amables y compasivos en este sentido y muy restrictivos en sus concesiones. Como católicos, debemos proteger y defender la vida desde la concepción hasta la muerte natural. Lo más importante es que defendemos la vida en el útero.

Aquí es donde comienza la vida. Todos nuestros derechos provienen de esto. Si ni siquiera existimos, entonces todos los demás derechos ni siquiera importan. Estamos llamados a ayudar a aquellos a lo largo de sus vidas. Debemos defender la vida en el útero. Al mismo tiempo, intentamos ayudar a las madres embarazadas. Intentamos ayudar a los pobres. Estamos llamados a asistir y ayudar a los inmigrantes. Estamos llamados a luchar contra una cultura de impureza. Estamos llamados a luchar contra la eutanasia y la cultura de la muerte. Estamos llamados a vivir vidas de justicia y paz a lo largo de nuestras vidas. Todos los seres humanos fueron creados a imagen y semejanza de Dios. Todas son personas por las que Jesús murió en la cruz y tienen un valor inestimable. Debemos honrar y respetar la dignidad humana de todos. Estamos llamados a respetar y amar a todos durante toda su vida. ¡Oremos para que hagamos eso e imitemos el amor de Jesús en todo momento!

El domingo pasado como mencioné en mi artículo del boletín y en mi homilía, celebramos el domingo la palabra de Dios.

Nuestro arzobispo, Allen Vigneron, también salió con una nota pastoral sobre la palabra de Dios ese fin de semana. Es una pieza buena, corta y creo que nos ayuda a sumergirnos más profundamente en el poder y el Espíritu de la palabra de Dios. Recomiendo leerlo. Se puede encontrar en unleashthegospel.org. Las otras notas pastorales del arzobispo se pueden encontrar aquí y recomiendo leerlas también si no lo ha hecho. ¡Estemos en contacto con la palabra de Dios, las Sagradas Escrituras, todos los días y recibamos la guía de Dios, su Espíritu y su vida!

President Biden also came out with some good executive orders allowing more immigrants opportunities in this country and to remain here safely. I am happy. It seems our previous president and administration were not very kind and compassionate in this regard and very restrictive in their allowances. As Catholics we should protect and defend life from conception to natural death. Most importantly we defend life in the womb. This is where life starts. All our rights come from this. If we don’t even exist, then all the other rights don’t even matter. We are called to help those throughout their lives. We should defend life in the womb. At the same time we try to help pregnant mothers. We try to help the poor. We are called to assist and help immigrants. We are called to fight against a culture of impurity. We are called to fight against euthanasia and a culture of death. We are called to live lives of justice and peace throughout our lives. All human beings are created in the image and likeness of God. They are all people Jesus died on the cross for and have inestimable worth.

We are to honor and respect everyone’s human dignity. We are called to respect and love all throughout their whole lives.

Let’s pray we do that and imitate Jesus’ love at all times!

Last Sunday as I mentioned in my bulletin article and in my homily, we celebrated the word of God Sunday. Our archbishop, Allen Vigneron, came out with a pastoral note on the word of God that weekend too. It is a good, short piece and I think helps us dive deeper into the power and Spirit of the word of God. I recommend reading it. It can be found at unleashthegospel.org. The archbishop’s other pastoral notes can be found here and I recommend reading them as well if you have not. Let’s be in contact with the word of God, the sacred scriptures, every day and receive God’s guidance, his Spirit, and his life!
