"So too, you also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come."
This week we hear that ominous Gospel passage where Jesus tells us about people being taken from where they are and what they are doing when they least expect it, while others remain. This has been distorted by some for support into a spectacular idea of rapture, leading to many books and mov- ies. A profitable genre has been created that sometimes preys on people's fears.
But in following Jesus Christ, there is no fear. What we are called to do is live each day as it were our last. Be mindful of all the opportunities around you to share love and the gifts God has given you. We will all be held accountable in the end, but it is not what we have done that will save us.
Our salvation lies in the grace freely given to us by Jesus.
When we choose to receive that gift and intentionally follow him, we are led to giving over our entire being totally to him.
This Advent, let's not allow ourselves to be caught up in all the craziness of the season, but instead give ourselves over to God to use for his glory. The Incarnation born in a manger is calling you. Have no fear!
- Tracy Earl Welliver, MTS
¡No tengas miedo!
- Tracy Earl Welliver, MTS
“What can we do to keep our heart from go- ing numb? Go forth and proclaim the joy
of the gospel”
- Pope Francis
Our readings today tell us to be alert, ready and prepared, for we know not when danger or the end times will come. For me Advent has been the time to prepare for the coming of Christ, but as a baby and not the end times. As I have gotten older, I think more of the end times and less of the baby!! Our world is better in many ways but also more dangerous in catastrophic ways. I hear our God asking us to be prepared and to help others find the way to live peacefully. Let's take this Advent time to build peace in our little part of the world, our neighborhood, so that we can welcome the Christ child at Christmas with more love, peace and joy.
Have a blessed Advent, Sr. Karen Collier
To build and foster a Christian Community that offers the opportunity to experience God’s unconditional love
and acceptance to all who come into contact with it.

"NOBODY CAN DO EVERYTHING BUT EVERYBODY CAN DO
SOMETHING"
At the start of this column each week is the message
"Nobody can do everything but everybody can do some- thing". This message rings so true. We have been given gifts by God some are huge and everyone can recognize/see them others are so small that even the owner of the gift over look it. We all have something to give/share. Dur- ing Advent and on the path to the celebration of the birthday of Jesus everyone seems to have an awaking and kindness just fills hearts and the need to reach out and bless someone is high on the priority list.
The day following Christ- mas people rush pass the person they blessed the day before and forget about the fact they still are in need.
We forget to do acts of kind- ness. We avoid eye or any kind of contact with the home bound, homeless or needy.
We forget to do the kindness that helps raise spirits that stimulate hope and makes someone feel worthy. Kind- ness is a choice dear family.
Not just for Christmas Day but for everyday.
Thank you. The penny jars and grocery bags are being returned filled for the din- ner. You can still if you want take one of these to fill and returned on December 11 when you come to church.
The list of needs for the din- ner has been distributed and the December schedule has been placed in the bulletin today. Turkeys are on sale at most of the markets if you want to donate one or more for the dinner. If you don't have freezer space please take them to the PC Office. Just call ahead to the PC 323 935 8127 so that one us can go to the PC to receive your dona- tion. Please refer to the bulle- tin and look at the signs up around the church for an- nouncements regarding the dinner. Inquires can be made to Margie N or Yolanda M before or after the 8:30am mass or by calling the PC Of- fice 323 935 8127.
Monetary gifts can be placed in an envelope marked S.H.A.R.E. MINIS- TRY and placed in the offer- tory basket or taken to the PC Office Checks are to be made payable to the St. Agatha church with S.H.A.R.E. Min- istry in the memo please.

can acknowledge your bless- ing for S.H.A.R.E.

THE SUPPORT OF OUR CHURCH FAMILY IN INVITING FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO COME IS GREATLY NEEDED TO MAKE THIIS EFFORT SUC- CESSFUL. LIKE IN A FAM- ILY OUR BUDGET IS FAR GREATER THAN THE S.H.A.R.E. MINISTRY FUNDS. WE ALL CAN GIVE/ DO SOMETHING TO MAKE CHRISTMAS DAY A JOYOUS ONE FOR OUR GUESTS. OUR NUM- BER ONE REQUEST IS
PRAYER THAT GOD AL- LOWS US TO ALWAYS BE A BLESSING FOR OUR GUESTS, YOU OUR CHURCH FAMILY, OTH- ERS THAT CROSS OUR PATH AS WE JOURNEY AND YES OH LORD FOR WE WHO VOLUNTEER AND SERVE WITH THE S.H.A.R.E. OUTREACH MINISTRY. AMEN.

This would be a fantastic treat for our guests. Our guests do not the option of a hot or cold meal they feel blessed to have something to eat each day.
We need enough soup to serve 100 guests. We have con- tainers to serve the soup in for the guests. We will return your pot to you. As you cele- brate and give thanks for the blessings God has given you please continue to be blessed and be a blessing as you storm heaven with prayers for unity, peace, and accep- tance in the blessed gift of diversity.
