Message from the Pastor

Dear brothers and sisters, once again

the Archdiocese of Miami asks us to collaborate

so that among all the parishes we will make this

weekend a symbol of unity by participating in the

Charity and Development (ABCD) campaign.

Through this campaign we help the ministries of

charity and assistance of many parishes especially

attending to the poorest of our society; also

through the ABCD we help programs of

evangelization and faith. The seminars receive

part of this help so that future priests, religious

and laity can receive the necessary training to

meet the needs in our communities. The goal is $

35,000.00. Today I ask you to be generous in your annual contribution to the

ABCD. We can all do it together.

May the Lord always bless your generosity



Queridos hermanos y hermanas, una vez más la Arquidiócesis de Miami nos pide

nuestra colaboración para que entre todas las parroquias hagamos de este

fin de semana un símbolo de unidad participando en la campaña de Caridades y

Desarrollo (ABCD, por sus siglas en ingles). A través de esta campaña ayudamos a

los ministerios de caridad y asistencia de muchas parroquias especialmente

atendiendo a los más pobres de nuestra sociedad, también a través del ABCD

ayudamos a los programas de evangelización y de la fe. Los seminarios reciben

parte de esta ayuda para que nuestros futuros sacerdotes, religiosos y laicos puedan

recibir la formación necesaria para atender las necesidades en nuestras

comunidades. La meta es de $35,000.00. Hoy les pido que sean generosos

en su aportación anual al ABCD. Entre todos podemos hacerlo.

Today’s gospel tells us that Simon, Andrew, James and John responded

promptly and generously to Christ’s call and left everything to follow Him.

Christ invites us also to follow Him, and each one must give Him an answer.

Christian faith requires a conversion of heart. In order to live in the light of

Christ and to have a share in His kingdom, we must renounce sin. For this

reason Jesus started preaching the message proclaimed in today’s gospel:

“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” The Church’s mission, as

God’s people, is to carry the light of Christ to all the nations. But let us

remember that the Church is not merely a juridical construct, but rather a

community of faith. We are God’s Church.



¿El evangelio de hoy nos dice que Simón, Andrés, Santiago y Juan respondieron con

prontitud y generosidad al llamado de Cristo, dejando todo para seguirle. Cristo

también nos invita a nosotros a seguirle y cada uno tiene que darle una respuesta.

La fe cristiana exige la conversión de corazón. Para vivir en la luz de Cristo y formar

parte de su reino, tenemos que renunciar al pecado. Por eso Jesús empezó su

predicación proclamando el mensaje que nos anuncia el evangelio de hoy:

"Conviértanse, porque está cerca el reino de Dios". La Iglesia, como pueblo de Dios,

tiene la misión de llevar la luz de Cristo a todas las naciones. Pero recordemos que la

Iglesia no es meramente una institución jurídica, sino más bien una comunidad de fe:

nosotros somos la Iglesia de Dios.

There are over 56 million abortions since the 1973 decisions of

carries with it, Devo on, honor and praise to the indicated deity, Call it God for

Catholics worship God alone, we pray to people, Not to images, and respect or

venerate images; And that is not forbidden in the Bible, but on the contrary, God

Jesus Keeps Knocking on Our Doors…

The Archdiocese of Miami, through the Archbishop’s Charities and Development Drive (ABCD),

opens the door for us all to unite as one community of believers to evangelize

and spread the Good News of Jesus Christ bringing hope to those in need.

We ask you to love your neighbors, selflessly and sacrificially, by making a gift to the ABCD

so that we can unite to feed the hungry, cloth the poor, care for the sick and dying, and touch the hearts of

those in despair. Your generosity will also help us educate our children, assist the poorest of our parishes

and schools, and provide shelter for the homeless. Together, we will continue to defend the dignity of all

hu-man life, eliminate prejudice, and promote social justice.

Jesus is knocking on your door and inviting you to love and serve those in need through the ABCD. Please
