OLL Students Receive “Star Award”
Each year, the Independent Schools of South Florida (ISSF) recognizes outstanding students from its member schools at its Annual “Star Awards” Luncheon. The luncheon provides member schools and students with well-deserved recognition. This year, on April 9th, three of our students were recognized at this event, receiving the “Star Award”:

Glee Club Performs At McCarthy HS
Our Glee Club performed at the 11th annual Catholic School’s Arts Extravaganza that took place at Archbishop McCarthy High School on Saturday, April 5th. The Glee Club entertained the crowd with solos and an ensemble presentation while visitors to the Extravaganza browsed through artwork made by children from a variety Catholic schools. The Glee Club joyfully performed “The Cup Song,” Treasure,” and their Dade County Youth Fair first place mash up of “Oh Happy Day” and “Happy.”

The Vocation Blessing Cup is a wonderful instrument of prayer and devotion for our parish families. The Cup reminds each host family that it is their responsibility to pray for and foster vocations to the priesthood and religious life. A family is asked to host the Vocation Cup for one week. It will travel from home to home as a sign of our total parish commitment to praying for vocations.

Reporting Child Maltreatment
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Each week we will offer snipets from Virtus bulletins shared in the last year. Virtus training is a child sex abuse awareness and prevention program that
begins with a live training session and continues with monthly bulletins.
Incidents of child maltreatment exist in a variety of forms: child neglect, physical child
abuse, child abuse homicide, sexual child abuse, child exploitation, emotional or psychological abuse. Anyone knowing of abuse or suspecting abuse should call the Flor-
ida Abuse Hotline at:
1-800-96-ABUSE (1-800-962-2873)
Internet abuse or suspicion of abuse should be reported to Cyber Tipline at 1-800-843-5678. Additionally, anyone abused by a church member and seeking help may
call the Archdiocese of Miami’s Victim Assistance Coordinator at 1-866-80-ABUSE ( 1-800-802-2873)
