Tim De Kock
(27) is a researcher and teaching assistant at the Department of Geology and Soil Sciences at Ghent University in Belgium. He finished his Master in Geology in 2009 and is working at this department since 2010 under supervision of Prof. Dr. Veerle Cnudde.His main specialization is in identification, characterization and weathering processes of natural building stones by using conventional and innovating non‐
destructive techniques.

of the Ghent University he has special interest for pore network characterization and processes on the (sub‐) micron scale. This laboratory has built a successful co‐operation with Prof. Dr.
Marcos Lanzón ever since his research stay at Ghent University. In January 2014, Tim has a one month research stay at UPCT to learn from the
9 chemical expertise of Prof. Lanzón to study both
chemical weathering processes and the synthesis of nanolime particles for natural stone conservation.
